Just ordered mine.
I washed my truck today and couldn’t believe the amount of rock chips on the side, this is the worst vehicle I’ve owned for rock chips.
They look so delicate!
Imagine a set of 115 load highway tires (mid 30 lbs) for summer use and I bet the R1 would approach 400 miles in conserve on a large pack.
They “regenerate” by blowing the dry, exhaust air through the dryer as it is vented. This process is not 100% efficient so more moisture is deposited into the desiccant than is removed.
There was a salvaged compressor on eBay a few months ago. It had AMK parts numbers on it, it’s one of these models:

Open system. The compressor has a desiccant air dryer, very similar to Land Rover. The compressor is made by AMK. The compressor for the air ride is separate from that of the auxiliary air compressor system. There is only one valve block.
20” Rivian wheels, look to be made in Mexico rather than China like current offerings. Perhaps these are a prototype for the refreshed R1 or new wheels for R2?

I’m glad to see that Stew’s isn’t closed down, just temporarily letting out the space to Rivian. I really like the Stew’s business model and it’s a great asset to the DIY and automotive community.
