  1. FOREST GREEN R1T Photos

I love how with forest green the dirtier it gets the better it looks. Glad that I won't get the need to wash it all the time :)
  2. Tax Credit Changes in new bill [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS & ARGUING]

I was playing around with my config and if I choose FG/FE, 20" Dark AT and powered tonneau my config comes out to exactly $80,000. I am confused on the wording but is the credit only for SUV/pickups up to $80,000, or is it up to and including $80,000? APPLICABLE LIMITATION.—For purposes of...
  3. Tax Credit Changes in new bill [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS & ARGUING]

Everyone's talking about the income limit but do we even have information on if Rivian's battery materials will even make it eligible for the full or even half of the credit to begin with? For me personally losing the $7500 isn't really going to prevent me from getting the Rivian but it did...
  4. Tax Credit Changes in new bill [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS & ARGUING]

I was thinking about that too. My build comes out to $79250 so destination will push it over. From what I found online destination is not included in MSRP but looking at different window stickers some companies include it in the total MSRP while others don't so I'm not sure.
  5. Rough Calculation of Rivian Orders, Delivery Times

Looks like the Canadian guys are being strung along with missed delivery estimates like a lot of people in the US are. I don't think there is even a service center open there either.
  6. Rough Calculation of Rivian Orders, Delivery Times

I had done some napkin math as well a little while ago. The 25k number however is split between 10K EDV and 15K R1. Either way going off the 70k preorders I wonder what percentage have not been cancelled. Also accounting for configs which include the explorer pack, max pack, non-powered tonneau...
  7. XPEL Rivian Factory PPF Q&A -- by XPEL

Thanks for the info Tim, it's great to get official answers! One question if you don't mind is regarding the warranty. From what we are hearing from installers the warranty is for a period of 5 years instead of the usual 10 years from XPEL. Is this true and if so is there a particular reason...
  8. Siemens’ new home EV charger adapter ends need for electrical panel upgrades

This would be pretty cool! My house was built in the 70s and it has a 100A panel. I currently have a 32A Siemens EVSE so if I can upgrade to a 48A one that connects directly to the meter that would be nice. Also I was thinking about the costs to install a second meter to be used just for EV...
  9. Switch from R1S to R1T for earlier delviery?

I am one of those people. I had the 5 seater R1S configured initially but either way I don't really need a full size SUV or a pickup but I do think the R1 is great so I'm getting whichever one I can get the soonest. I'm fortunate in that my situation allows me to pretty much get whatever car I...
  10. Rivian XPEL Stealth Deal - Beware

True, having a nationwide price for something where most of the cost is the labor involved was a mistake. If Rivian really did want to provide this to their customers having something like a rebate for $1-2k rebate off a quote from a certified XPEL installer would have been better.
  11. Rivian XPEL Stealth Deal - Beware

While I did think that this "deal" was too good to be true it's starting to seem like this is borderline false advertising. The website clearly states "all painted sections", so are the gaps in between each letter on the Rivian badges not counted as a painted section? Also the picture of the El...
  12. SmartCharge Rewards Rivian Eligibility

I've been part of the Smartcharge Rewards program for a year now and overall I am pretty satisfied with it. I am in the NYC area but they also provide this to people in Portland, Florida, Georgia, Nashville and Calgary and I highly recommend joining. All you do is connect an ODB dongle and after...
  13. September - October 2022 (New 6/11 delivery estimate)

Seems like the west coast and Atlanta are getting most of the action. Doesn't seem like people in the northeast are getting any luck even after switching to ideal configs with 21s with movement on the preorder or R1 Shop invites.
  14. Oh brother, they are trying a little too hard….

Yeah I'd say Jeeps nowadays are overrated imo (unless you really want a car where you can take everything apart) but I will say the the Wrangler 4xe is a game changer in a way. I see them all over the place and it's good at getting peoples feet wet with electrification. Even with the low EV...
  15. Oh brother, they are trying a little too hard….

With a Jeep you can do anything and just follow it up with "it's a Jeep thing". Can't do that with the Rivian.
  16. The Worst Thing Rivian Lifted from Tesla

Well I'm not really understanding the QC issue with Rivian's model compared to the traditional method of going through the dealer. Won't it be the same for the customer if they run into issues with the car they picked up? As for the test drives I agree in that Rivian needs to prioritize making...
  17. First look at @ “Introducing the R1 Shop” -- Rivian website to shop for R1T that delivers in 6-8 weeks

Seems like only some locations are getting shop access. As far as I am aware little if any people in the Northeast are getting R1 Shop invites either. I changed my wheels to be the 21s in hopes of getting access if and when the Northeast section starts seeing a lot of invites coming. Then I hope...
  18. First look at @ “Introducing the R1 Shop” -- Rivian website to shop for R1T that delivers in 6-8 weeks

Yup there's 2 of the FG/FE that I have configured and it just pains me to see it available on the shop and I don't have access. I would even make the drive from NYC to Atlanta to pick it up.

As someone who likes to DIY (with the benefit of saving some money) this is very exciting! :D
