I was in the camp of 'no I like to drive my vehicle' until I began using it regularly. There are times I don't because I want to DRIVE, but then there are plenty of times I am just sitting on a highway at 80mph in 1 lane for 20-30 minutes, perfect situation for that. The times I have used it...
I normally charge when I am in the 30s then up to 85. Unless of course I will need the range the next day for a trip. I used to charge whenever but now it is mostly overnight.
Like most things not everyone is happy with their experience. I had the 12V drained by a faulty charge door motor, rivian covered all the costs to tow it, rental car, 12 replacement and the motor for the charge port door. After 3 years love my vehicle would buy it again and again.
This is a great thing and has been noticed by the current Rivain owner population. In the NY metro area they added three centers in NJ, which helps eliviate the burden on Brooklyn. I needed an appointment got one in a week, they had the vehicle for 24 hours.
This can't be a real post. I haven't used CDs in my vehicles in years, even before CarPlay. I get people still have them but you can't buy a VHS anymore either.
With the R2 entering in the 45-50k range and the R1 being 80-120k I don't see it having any impact on pricing. I would imagine once the R2 gets rocking the LIDAR and potentially the steering wheel could move to the R1. Will it be for 27 or 28 no one knows its all a guess right now.
A single price in one location means nothing, here is the average price month by month for the last year. When I lived in California years ago it was $0.99 Tuesday at one station, that doesn't mean the price had dropped.
January 2026: ~$2.80 - $2.96
December 2025: ~$3.05 - $3.14
November 2025...
Not surprising to hear if true. Launching a new brand is a major undertaking for anyone. Even though VW is tremendous they have their own challenges with what has happened with their own EVs, Audi's struggles and now Porsche. It isn't unexpected.
My wall charger uses practically nothing unless plugged into my vehicles. There is a very small amount for the wifi connection but 6KW would be a lot.
I would shut it off and get a trained professional in to look at it. Chargers shouldn't be drawing more than a few watts while idle like...
I don't get why people stick to 1 charging network, unless you have zero options. When we travel we use what is in our path, period end of story. EVGO, Chargepoint, EA, Tesla, Rivian, Blink, etc.
Lots of options out there.
Considering over 20% of new car purchases are leases, it was over 30% a few years ago, this is fantastic. There are plenty of buyers who don't buy and this keeps the door open to them.
As someone who owns a BMW I4M50, I can tell you BMW does an amazing job with their EVs. Drives and looks like a BMW. I get that people will want the utility of the R2 but there are plenty who want the looks as well. I like the R2 but I also like the IX3 and since I have an R1S it would be...
Be really curious if anyone tested this on the 'electronic' door mechanism that Audi has had for more than 8 years? Our old A7 had these curious if they have the same 'issues' people are complaining about.
Right now no intention of replacing my R1S with a R2. However my wife would be interested in looking at it to replace her I4. Might wait for the R3 but not 100% sure yet. It looks great and fits her needs well.
I precondition in the winter often but I never really monitor the temps. I turn it on 10 minutes prior to leaving so the car isn't as cold when I get in. I understand people's concern about the temp but to me it is almost like when you first get in any car the outside temp is off because it is...
