I just drove by. Looks like fence posts were put in recently and a crew was patching up the asphalt around the holes. See photo. The fence it looks like will be around the back perimeter.
This is awesome! I live in VSL. Minutes away from my house. Will drop by regularly to see progress. And I know the area. Been going there for 8 years to service my Teslas!
It would be quite logical that they would open a few together. Economies of scale in making bulk hiring, purchasing, vendor decisions for several locations at once.
Came across Rivian job postings for Montreal. See link. Yet, their service centre map doesn’t even show one coming soon. Maybe we’ll get a pleasant surprise sooner than later.

I’m looking at a dual motor with max pack.
Thanks for the info on the ordering processing. I worry that my invitation to configure may take a little longer… I’m in Canada and there’s only one SC in Vancouver, quite a ways from me in Quebec. Apparently one is in the works next door in Ontario...
Really wanted to get a Rivian. Loved the look and the promised performance. Put down my deposit 2 and a half years ago for a Max Pack. This month was going to be the month for us to change back to dual motor and some time after get a revised delivery estimate. I now hear the configurator update...
I am a Max Pack reservation holder and did not receive the email in post 1. Odd. Maybe it’s because I’ll get the other good news email, the one about how there isn’t a service centre in sight so back to the end of the line. Seriously tempted to just cancel.
I’ve tried to change to dual max pack from quad max pack. Chatted with support and put in the request. No mention of price but was told it would take a few days before the option became available in my account. That’s been well over a month now and still nothing.
After reading and thinking more...
Nowhere else than me wondering. I’ve seen the photos but it still needs to deliver the 400+ miles. Am just saying this could be one of the reasons they’re pushing it out. Need more time to deliver what was promised. That and perhaps the fact the extra modules in that pack will mean less...
Max pack and sticking with it. I will tow a decent sized trailer. Will likely cut range in half. So, max is needed. If I’d switch to regular range, I’m sure I’d regret it later.
Beyond pandemic related constraints, they’re having the normal issues associated with launching a brand new product. It ain’t an easy thing to do. That being said, I would not conclude that these delays will result in increased quality. There will still be issues once the cars are delivered...
