There are now a bunch of visible R1s at the MTL SC. Also, the email I received and posted upthread says "We know how excited you are to see deliveries begin in Quebec." Could be interpreted as about to being with the May opening of the R1 shop to reservation holders here or, as it's already...
Wow. You're a 2019 reservation holder and you won't get to place a custom order until (hopefully) later this summer? I wonder, are there any QC reservation holders that are going to get a custom order before they shut down the plant? And again, what volume of inventory will be left in the shop...
I'm waiting for the next email where they tell me this was sent in error. LOL
For those wondering, I am reservation holder that hasn't been invited to configure yet. I assume all/some of those who have configured are getting their deliveries soon ahead of the plant shut down?
And for folks...
Just dropped by. Tried to take a photo but the reflection in the window made it impossible to see anything. That said, I could see at least 4 R1 vehicles in the room behind the front one with the seating area.
I assume those are the ones brought in recently and referenced above and shown on...
Dropped by this AM. No change at all.
Perhaps they are offering to service you in Ottawa as if they did in QC, they’d likely have to offer comms, invoices and the like in both languages and they might not be ready. Perhaps that’s the holdup. The web site, the car’s UI, etc. may not be ready...
Just chatted with care. They say many members in Quebec have received the email and cannot take action. They apologized and said their systems folks were on the issue and said I should hear back within a day or two. I’ll keep you all posted on what I hear.
Got the same email. When I click the link, I get the same page as before just confirming that I’ve got a reservation. Cannot confirm my order any more than before. And since I didn’t have a delivery window, I still don’t see one. Maybe that’ll show up tomorrow and they jumped the gun on the email?
The generic Alexa does have both French and Canadian French options. I assume Rivian has not yet adapted their customized version to French.
At any rate, exciting that Rivians in Quebec are getting more and more tangible!
That is awesome to read… That said, the Service Center map still doesn’t show even an upcoming location in MTL. And the R1T shop still says they aren’t delivering here when I enter my postal code. All forthcoming I hope.
About Alexa, I wonder. Does this mean it’s not available at all for QC...
Could they be waiting for the winter tire requirement to be lifted? Simplifies things. I know they could deliver all seasons but some clients would want help sourcing tires I assume. Or they could just not be ready.
Stopped by on my way to work this AM. Fence was put up. Just missing the gate, I’d assume. See photo. Also, lights were on in the show room and what seemed to be the service area in the back. You could see tool drawers and other hardware. Didn’t take a photo of that though.
