  1. Just passed 10k miles. 2.44m/KWh consumption so far (on 21" wheels)

Took delivery of my Tee on 8/9 and passed the 10k mark on my way to a nearby town for a meeting. The truck has performed splendidly (knock on wood) and I don’t have a single complaint. 2.44m/KWh over the lifetime of the truck includes an equal amount of summer, fall, and winter driving.
  2. L2 Charging Question -- need to reset input to 40A each time or will the truck default to the 40A input automatically?

My home has the Rivian L2 wall charger installed and the truck is set to 48A input. Works splendidly and gives me 25-27 miles per hour. I installed A 240v 15-50 plug at the office and purchased an Electrek 40A charger so that i can top off battery while at work. My question: do I need to reset...
  3. Rivian R1T Bed Outlet Saves Power Outage Day -- charges battery charger for natural gas generator

Living in the mountains of western NC, it isn’t unusual to lose electricity from time to time and even though they work hard, getting it restored by Duke Energy can be hit or miss. Therefore, we have a nice 25kw natural gas generator for backup. Until the battery gets old and cranky and won‘t...
  4. Advice on second portable J1772

I'm installing a 32A 240V plug (50A double pole breaker) at my vacation home and I want to purchase a second portable J1772 plug to keep there. Any advice on brand will be greatly appreciated! (I use the Rivian wall charger at home and the T is set at 48A.)
  5. Canceled my R1S today

I took delivery of my T on 8/9. I executed the paperwork on 8/10 and promptly FedEx’d them to Rivian. I immediately added my truck with Nationwide on my current insurance plan that expired on 9/3. I waited and waited and waited for my tag but nothing came and I heard nothing from Rivian. So, I...
  6. TPMS reset method?

The TPMS icon showed up this morning and said that a tire was low. I filled all the tires to 50-53 but the icon is still showing. Is there a way to reset the TPMS system?
  7. A/C and Heater Energy Comparison

Now that the temperatures are getting cooler, I was wondering which system uses more energy: A/C in summer or heater in winter?
  8. An Early Wish List for Santa

My early Santa wish list in no particular order: 1) Current time and temp displayed bottom center of driver screen; 2) A sunscreen something for the sun roof because the glass is really, REALLY hot in the full sun; 3) Running boards to assist in entry and exit; 4) The seat edge pleather holds...
  9. First Long trip

Posted is the travel log for taking our granddaughter to college in Lynchburg, VA, from NC. Besides over the road travel at Limit+5 or so, lots of local errands and short trips. Stopped at Wytheville on I-81 both ways not 72 hours apart. On the way up, all EA chargers were working and we gulped...
  10. Best Battery Practice?

Hi Everyone! I took delivery on Tuesday so I'm a whole 3-days into my first EV ownership experience and I have a question about best battery practice. I charge to 70% as recommended and even though I'm averaging about 15% usage each day, I'm charging every evening. Should I be doing this? Or...
  11. Weird Frunk Lid Behavior

The good news: I took delivery of my new R1T in Atlanta today and drove it back to the Asheville, NC, area averaging 2.45 mi/KWh without trying too hard to maximize economy. I was demonstrating its features and had something weird happen with the frunk: while it opened automatically as it...
  12. Waiting on Rivian wall charger

Good news: I'm taking delivery of my truck on Tuesday, 8/9, at the Atlanta SC. VIN 88XX and several months earlier than estimated. Bad news: the genuine Rivian wall charger that I paid for has not even been sent yet. Looks like I'm going to have a nice EV without an L2 charge point. Thoughts...
