Give us access to gauges that a regular truck has, and maybe a few others. Motor temp, battery temp, perhaps a quantitative display of power delivered/regened (in kW), a cool little diagram that shows which motors are getting power (like the Lightning has).
Let us display energy *consumption*...
That’s cool, and I would like the feature. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it. I just don’t agree that it’s ridiculous that they haven’t. That’s a pretty uncommon feature. People have been swapping wheel sizes on all sorts for vehicles for 100 years, and not recalibrating the speedo when they...
I definitely find the Rivian auto wipers to be a lot more conservative than typical auto wipers, but I generally find most other auto wipers to be too overactive.
But if your issue is just the intermittent need when you're splashed or something, why not just tap the button at the end of the...
I had to google it. It looks like 3 years of unlimited 30 minutes sessions. It’s actually interesting that so many are charging to 100% then. ?‍♂️
Minimum current draw would kinda suck if you really need the extra charge to get where you’re going. When I’ve towed with my R1T, I’ve definitely hung out at chargers for a lot longer that I normally would, because I had to.
I do think the problem is the free charging that’s been given away...
I don’t think it’s fair to call it clickbait. It’s on brand with the rest of Cammisa’s videos - it’s a fun, entertaining video for people who like cars. Yes, the Rivian finished last. No, that was not used for some anti-EV commentary.
Watch the video. You might enjoy it.
Which is way too rare, by the way. I’ve been flagged down on the freeway in stop and go traffic to be told that my trailer brake lights weren’t working. They were working fine, I just wasn’t braking hard enough for them to ever turn on, so the person behind me figured they went working.
I’ve had the same issue. I guess Rivian’s map data is too naive, and it just assumes any point of toll metering must be an actual toll booth that you have the drive through. It’s annoying, but I’m sure it will get better with time.
Yeah, I meant that directed at the OP. I haven’t ever drive a vehicle with the whole glass heated, but always assumed it would be great. It’s not super common though ?.
Which is great, if there’s actually another nearby.
I’ve done tens of thousands of miles of road-trips with CCS vehicles in the last few years, and I can say that more often than not, I am _relying_ on a charger when I pull up to it. I know parts of the country have more infrastructure and...
Eeh, the etron guy Kyle mentioned was stranded and checked in to a hotel. I’ve personally been stranded by non-functional DCFC in -30 weather too.
In fact, even after checking into a hotel, the DCFCs I could reach were still not working, and I didn’t know if it was my vehicle or the chargers. I...
Yeah, I do the exact opposite. I have free charging at work, so I'm generally plugged in at work, and I intentionally stay unplugged at home (gotta take advantage of the free power at work!) It means I get crap efficiency in the morning commute, but it's not an issue for me, since I don't have...
As others have said, I’d you keep the truck plugged in, and preheat it before leaving, you’ll see *drastically* better efficiency figures than this in the cold.
It’s not so much keeping the vehicle warm that consumes so much power, it’s getting it warm in the first place. These things have...
