  1. JerryRigEverything 2 year R1T review video w/ look @ tonneau cover and windshield replacement

Makes sense that they intend to offer post-sale installations for people who don't already have the powered tonneau. If they have to completely disassemble the truck bed, and then just slot in the replacement tonneau, might as well make money off it.
  2. Range Discrepancy

Heat's better for motor efficiency (making it more in-line with the EPA estimate), but the AC is probably consuming ~5 miles of range across your trip. I do know that Rivian acquired ABRP, and I know that ABRP keeps track of your personal driving habits to establish a baseline efficiency. For...
  3. Range Discrepancy

The range on your dashboard is simply SOC × 3.6 (because 100% provides an EPA estimated 360 miles for your config). This represents essentially perfect driving conditions (65 MPH, flat ground, no wind, 80° outside) The remaining mileage on your map takes weather, elevation, and speed limits...
  4. Poll: Should Rivian offer Tank Turn?

If the public could be trusted with it, I would say absolutely. But unfortunately, it's just bad press waiting to happen. And once you let the cat out of the bag, there's no getting it back in.
  5. How to link your Rivian's live data to ABRP 5.0

I just got it fixed, although I did 2 things and not sure which one fixed it; I was on Chrome, and apparently it was outdated. I pressed the button to "restart chrome and apply update" or whatever it says. There's a button in ABRP to reset some settings. Although I didn't have anything worth...
  6. After a year Rivian still can't drive onto my property due to maps / navigation issue

Glad to help! The street view unfortunately may not change for literally years, just an FYI. One of their cars just drove by my street a month ago or so, which was the first time in about a decade. Now google shows my Rivian in my driveway instead of the previous homeowner's circa 2008 Suburban ?
  7. How to link your Rivian's live data to ABRP 5.0

To clarify, I copied it from my passwords.google.com page, then pasted it both into Rivian and ABRP. Rivian logged in, ABRP failed to connect.
  8. How to link your Rivian's live data to ABRP 5.0

I'm unable to log into my Rivian account through ABRP. It just says "Wrong email or password". I'm not typing it in wrong because I copied it from the Rivian.com login page ? My credentials successfully log me into Rivian.com, but not on this ABRP linkage prompt.
  9. 2024.19.4 Software Update Released => Suspension, Visual Interface, Live Blind Spot Camera, Climate Control, OTA sched, Google Maps Improvements, more

It can help inform whether you're ready to flick on your blinker. Seeing a car rendered in a blind spot is quite handy. As for pedestrians, it's mainly there just to build the confidence that the vehicle indeed recognizes them.
  10. Educating ourselves on Rivian's autonomous driving history, present, and future

They would have you believe Rivian is providing the features. Technically, they *are* advertising it by showcasing RAP+ (which is what the new MobilEye provides).
  11. When will Gen 1 vehicles get the New User Interface?

The 2024.19 patch notes became visible just a couple days ago. That generally means a handful of vehicles will start updating in 1 week, and if customer service didn't hear any complaints then they'll roll it out to all vehicles in batches over the following 2 weeks.
  12. After a year Rivian still can't drive onto my property due to maps / navigation issue

OK, so OSM actually looked like it was set up correctly. But just in case I edited the driveway in an attempt to force it to recalculate. That being said, I think I heard that Rivian is now using Google for search results, and then using Mapbox for navigation. So I double checked your home on...
  13. After a year Rivian still can't drive onto my property due to maps / navigation issue

Got it. Go ahead and delete your address for digital security and all that. I'll take a look at the area and see if I can fix your problem. Just to confirm, your home's the one right across the fence from the church, with a looped driveway by your garage?
  14. After a year Rivian still can't drive onto my property due to maps / navigation issue

If you're comfortable PMing me your home address, I can try to get it fixed. I'm an Open Street Map editor, which is the map that Mapbox uses. https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/MrMusAddict Chances are the are some incorrect settings applied around you, or the driveway is just unique enough...
  15. Educating ourselves on Rivian's autonomous driving history, present, and future

To your point of Mobileye possibly over promising their hardware's functionality, that actually aligns with the messaging of my post. Ultimately, I'm not saying Rivian acted with malice, or even incompetence. Rather, Mobileye is the obstacle, whether for to mandates, or their own possible...
  16. Educating ourselves on Rivian's autonomous driving history, present, and future

The operating system is Rivian's own making, yes. My post is purely talking about autonomous driving compute though. So far, Mobileye's been the one actually processing all the perception and driving the vehicle during Driver+. What I'm inferring is that the only involvement Rivian has with...
  17. Educating ourselves on Rivian's autonomous driving history, present, and future

If I were a short-term investor, I would say no. If I were a long-term investor, I would say probably. They've proven capable as a vertical hardware integrator, but I'm feeling pretty duped on the software side. Granted, all of the software for the UX is Rivian's, but the perception on Autonomy...
  18. Educating ourselves on Rivian's autonomous driving history, present, and future

With all of the news and confusion of Gen2's refresh, there's a lot of information I thought I knew about Gen1 which I'm now realizing was incorrect (or worst case, was made incorrect retroactively). Going down the rabbit hole, I'm learning a lot, and thought it would be helpful for me to write...
  19. Wassym AMA Summary - from 6/13/2024 (Gen1, Gen2 & More)

Could they be referring to the camera on the trailer itself? I wonder if that's something that's only accessible via the trailer screen, which it sounds like is disabled during cruise control.
