I picked up my R1S on 4/1 and developed a smell around mid-May. I put in a ticket for a service visit already scheduled. I’ve been driving with windows down mostly now in the interim. It doesn’t seem as bad as it did at first but definitely not normal. Nothing in frunk or any other potential source.
Just a quick follow up. I picked up on 4/1 and was given temp drive away plates from IL. Today I received my registration in the mail. They successfully registered it under AUT plates and transferred my personalized plates. For anyone else in WI getting a R1S point out the SUV definition for AUT...
Can mobile service fix any sort of panel gap related issues or similar? I noticed today that the rear driver wheel flare molding sticks out a bit. It's honestly nothing that gets me too worked up, but if mobile service can take care of that I have no problem waiting a while for them to come...
So I have no idea what I'm going to end up with but I did convince my guide to at least tell me they are transferring plates for my R1S vs. a HT registration. I pointed out that in WI they define Automobile including "Sport Utility Vehicles" which are defined as 50% or more of the cabin...
What I appreciated in this post is the progress as noted by the consumption of what appears to be either a basic pale ale or at least a hazy pale of some sort.
I actually messaged WISDOT generally asking them if a "Heavy Truck" could have specialized plates. They indicated any truck classified as a "heavy truck" (>8,000 lbs) is not eligible for any special plates in WI. I think @Rivian-WI is right in that somehow it needs to be classified as Class C...
I've seen a few R1T's and one R1S in the Milwaukee area, but I never thought to pay attention to the license plates on them. It looks like WISDOT considers heavy truck at 8,000lbs and I think the R1S is just over that. I actually don't know if any WI special plate, including personalized...
For the owners in this thread did you do a First Mile demo drive or not. If you did where did you go to complete it or did they come up to you or some other location? I realize many in this group probably received their T's prior to the Chicago SC being open, so curious where you went if you...
So little update, after this thread I once again reached out to CS about a First Mile demo. This time I actually received a call the next day offering the opportunity to get one scheduled. Ironically, my date was pushed back a quarter from the last round of updates so now I'm a little less...
Thanks! My disappointment in not getting an invite for a demo drive continues. I know I'm not Chicago, but that would be my service center and my pre-order date is early 2021 for an R1S. Milwaukee is only a little over an hour from the normal service center and if they will meet in a...
Where exactly does that show up? I'm Milwaukee and I cannot tell you how many times I've submitted requests for First Mile Demos and only ever received silence back.
Part of the issue here is I don’t know what type of driver everyone else is. I think 22’s in the snow with this weight is probably just not great regardless of the type of driver you are. But if the 20’s are bad as well regardless of driver then part of me wonders do I just do the 21’s even...
Yeah that’s where I feel like I’m heading. Everything I’ve read is that it’s so heavy and with the regen it’s like learning to drive in snow all over. I know the snow mode is just coming out but I really don’t know how much of a difference that will make. I’m wondering if it’s even worth going...
Anyone in here have their Rivian with 22's and if so, how has it done in the snow yet? I have 20's configured partly because of the winter and less with the off-road. That said I'd rather have the range if the 22's work sufficiently in the winter. I won't consider the 21's with only one tire...
Is this confirmed or is that assumption based on R1T tailgate not being powered? Honest question here as I had not heard and was hoping it would be powered for both top and bottom half.
I can’t even with that wiper. And the front looks even more small with the windshield coming even further forward than before. I also think the roof overhangs the bed more than the original.
Can anyone tell me what’s in the space from the dash to the front? The wind shield is so far forward...
That is a fantastic find! I had not watched the roadshow video yet. I was hoping MKE would get a service center not far from the zoo interchange, so this is promising.
