$21K off our '24 iX, $23K off our '24 Wrangler Rubicon 4xe.
Delivered to our house. Less than 30 minutes between the two total time spent online, with the dealer, with the transport service. No time spent at a dealer.
Holy shit, if our iX had that sized pack, given how it constantly beats the EPA spec, it would do 410-420 miles, with the more efficient iX5, that's over 450, and like real, regular driving, proper highway speeds.
Just grab a Hubbell (or Bryant) 9450, they go on sale all the time, here it is ~$53:

(Matching brand faceplate, another $11-12)
Right, my point was that "Can be moved without disconnecting a hardwire" is a lot different than mobile, as in "portable" charger.
Our Grizzl-E was this super heavy all metal box with a huge bracket, a fixed N6-50 plug and a 25 foot cable that was like 2" thick. 🤣
Companies like Emporia don't...
Oh, a N6-20 is interesting! So ~3kW? Heck, that's not terrible. That's why I tell people even a 14-30 with a nice smart switcher (between the dryer and the EV) is still a decent 6kW.
Funny, we're making a big move, I've been ruminating over the EVSE install, currently using our BMW, umm...
There is certainly potential for poorly done work, and cheap components. I supplied the receptacle / plate for my install, high quality (Bryant industrial spec), and including the cost for that part and the install, it was < $300 :)
Also, and I'll say this without getting into, well, "it", but...
Plug in chargers are not necessarily "mobile" see my post above. And I've been using plug-in style EVSEs for going on 6 years now, on two EVs, without a single issue. :)
The installation / wire-up doesn't really denote mobile or not, I had a Grizzl-E that was not in any way "mobile", but it used an outlet.
@reodds
What he's talking about is there is two ways to power an EVSE / charger, You can either have an outlet / receptacle installed so it plugs in, Or you...
That's all negotiated by the vehicle, for example we have a 40 amp charger on a 50 amp circuit and if I plug in to the Wrangler it has a maximum charging capacity of 32 amps it just charges at 32 amps where the BMW IX charges at the full 40 amps.
Also EV chargers run at continuous load so they...
Yeah, I'm not sure, autonomy+ "free" sub, nice, but not a major factor for us, I'd definitely want to the tow package, which being added at your cost plus the (assuming) extra for the Coastal Cloud interior, you might be looking at $2500 or more difference?
If there was a crazy-insane bright...
Huh, I didn't really think about having an early reservation and being able to order a non-LE. In my head (which is a dark and confusing place ...), I was thinking that the initial reservation offering would only be LE models (for some X amount of time, where if you passed on the LE, you were...
Same. No interest in that level of autonomy, the ADAS in the iX is a pretty stellar execution, but I only use it on the highway in sort of a hands-on-cruise-mode and for < 1 minute for just a quick break/adjustment/etc.
Zero desire for any kind of "drive my vehicle for me". Even the traffic...
You know, I've posted on other sites about how the "R2 reservation I made a year ago finally a reality", and had to do a double take (and go back and edit :D ) when I realized it was TWO years ago.
Holy hell.
