Rivian employees don’t avoid these forums. In fact, they’re actively monitored.
However, they wisely do not post.
I know an employee getting an early build. I can ask him for some early feedback but I’m not sure what he’d be allowed and or willing to disclose or what the forum would want to...
Funny you write that. I remember having an opportunity at ordering a Launch Edition but didn’t because I indeed thought Launch Green was the only option. Once I saw Launch Green in person I regretted passing on that opportunity. I love the color after seeing it in person.
Another funny thing -...
The salesperson through whom I bought my Gen 2 R1T Quad in 8/2025 confirmed no Coastal Cloud for Launch Editions. His text to me from earlier today:
Interiors are all Black Crater until they say otherwise.
So you can have any color you want as long as it's black.
He said he's going to buy...
Great question. I’m sure we’ll all get clarification soon, but Jose at Rivian Tracker has historically been very reliable. He somehow gets fed information early.
EDIT:
Jose’s write up:

Doesn't look like Lifetime Connect+ is included for Launch Editions like it was on the Gen 2 Quad. That's too bad but I guess they have to keep differentiating what I think will be the new RAD Performance Trims.
No Rivian Green? If they're calling Launch Green, Rivian Green then the story below is just silly:

I wonder what Catalina Cove looks like.
I was poking around the app after reading somewhere the Rivian website updated the R2 orders page. I hadn’t looked in a while and to be honest didn’t notice any major differences on that page but I’m sure something is in the works before the 3/12/2026 full announcement.
I did, however, notice...
Cut up parts of collapsing cedar fence I just replaced and took it to the dump. It was 108 feet total but the contractor took a little over half of it to repurpose it. I had to get rid of the rest.
Installed!
Rather brilliant design. Well done @Kelvn! Thank you. Opening the front door is tight but it works!
Clearance is actually too low with the new kneel mode but will just leave at Standard height when deploying the awning.
Crossbar wind noise is now tolerable with the side mount!
I was actually wondering the same thing. Seems like Rivian is taking the R2D2 thing a bit too far. I’m no lawyer but Rivian appears to be using Lucasfilm’s (now Disney’s) character to promote Rivian’s new product - although the wraps may also be dissimilar enough such that it’s not an issue...
Really depends on the shop. I pay $225 per wheel at a local shop in the metro Phoenix area (Tempe). I’ve seen people mention local quotes for maybe $150 per wheel, but the shop I use has a higher end reputation and I’m fine paying for the quality and peace of mind.
That said, I’m sure some of...
I saw this in DeMuro's video and immediate thought, "Oh man. Heat only." Then I realize that icon could change to cool and hopefully that's the case.
Brain fart on my end. I'm driving my Ioniq 5 this week.
Here’s an A2Z version of the Hyundai compatible adapter.
Specs seem similar to what we think the R2 capability will be.
120 V
20 amps

This is available on my Ioniq 5. It’s no big deal. Just a way to have a 110V power outlet on the exterior of the vehicle so one does not have to run an extension or power cord through a door or window.
Good point. Ventilated seats are essential living in a desert. Ventilated seats were not an option on DeMuro’s test car per the climate screen
Watching some of DeMuro’s review. Some random thoughts.
- Looks like data is 5G
- His test car showed as red on the display. Possible Red Canyon...
