The LinkedIn pages for Rivian are interesting reading. A large number of positions posted in the last 24 hrs. Includes technical positions in a range of locations - including Raleigh, Las Vegas, Palo Alto, Philly, St Louis, Cleveland, Phoenix, Canada, Netherlands, and the UK - etc.
If the blue is really that dark - then Iād be torn too. Best āblue truckā photo Iāve seen. Looking forward to reality - instead of guessing at white filter settings and backgrounds.
2 1/2 years in and Iām still optimistic. Iād say we are due to learn which other cities - beyond āLos Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Detroit and Seattleā will become part of the Drive Program. Hoping for another 10-15 locations to be revealed by Friday July 2nd.
My Rivian Guide made a comment that the Camp Kitchen comes with storage bags to protect the components when you need the gear tunnel for other purposes.
One of the oddities of the Rivian rollout over the next few months is the order of events:
July: weekly information updates
July: first deliveries (?)
August: Rivian Tour (10 locations?)
August: At-home Drives
August: more deliveries (?)
Sept: more deliveries (?)
If you are sitting on the...
New (to me) information on Reddit about 3 Rivians spotted in NZ. The thinking is they are headed to the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds for more winter testing.
As summarised in Post #370 I found my guide interaction on June 2nd quite useful. Whether I like the timeline she laid out or not, I now know to expect weekly informational updates starting in July, and an estimated delivery in Week 4 in October. I also have a direct phone and email connection...
I asked about Warn winches, and whether or not Rivian was in discussions with Warn on Rivian-specific or Rivian-optimized winches. She did not know but promised to follow up with the relevant in-house experts.
Just finished my Rivian Guide Introductory Meeting (Summary):
Thought I only had 1-2 questions, but meeting went for an hour. Overall - much better than expected, and got answers to most of my questions. My Guide was very up-front, gave me specifics when she could, and was upfront on questions...
Iāll find out tomorrow - maybe - when I have my 1st bonding session with my Rivian Guide. Could be a short discussion since I only have 1 question - what is my delivery date? ??
My guesstimate is that the number of Rivian Reservation Holders contacted is:
RRHC = TRG x Int/week x weeks ahead
RRHC = 40 x 30 x 1
RRHC = 1,200
Assuming 40 Trained Rivian Guides, each able to process 30 interviews/week, and only emailing Reservation Holders one week ahead of time.
It seems we are seeing the leading edge of Rivian Guides contacting a few of us. My guess is this is to be consistent with May as the launch date for such reach-outs. I suspect there is a lot of hiring and training of guides going on in the background. Those of us contacted āearlyā may simply...
Yes, NE is New England, Western MA. Will have to reduce down to two vehicles, and since Iāll never sell my air cooled ā92 911 it will be exchanging the FJ and the Rivian. I āthinkā the Rivian will better match my needs for hauling tools, and getting me to Mtn bike and ski locations. ? ? ā·
