That was my hypothesis based on truck delivery timing and patterns I've seen there, but it may just be that the socal trains reach their destination first after a split somewhere earlier in the E>W trip as others have mentioned.
I'm curious if anyone has a south SF delivery scheduled this...
I’m not sure if this is possible with the rivian charger but you may be able to set the charger to 40a draw with some dip switches inside and put a whip with a 14-50 plug into the box pretty easily. I know a few other chargers that offer this capacity to go hardwired or plug in.
I’m assuming they are making some major changes to the delivery strategy and continuous improvement capas on their line to account for fit and finish problems. Ie Post delivery follow up overhead was too high of a burden and tweaks to their line to improve quality will help scale. Will be best...
I’ve noticed the porpoising in early videos of testers driving around and was surprised. Several forum members pointed out the same thing. This was at least 1.5 years ago so I’m surprised they haven’t tuned the suspension to deal with the shorter wheelbase this much later in production. Should...
this does not seem fair....i'm really sorry to hear. your preorder date is just about as early as they come and there are 2020 preorder holders getting their vehicles already. you even added the UBS on there which should move it up. i wonder if this speaks toward some larger issue with r1s...
Watching thread as well :) 11/27/2018 preorder, same spec w/o underbody shield. ~20 miles away from south SF service center. Left normal on 9/30 according to guide so I'm guessing it's one of the ones that a forum member saw last friday that arrived in SSF, but no word from the center on...
i agree RE the tesla filters. they work really well for wildfire smoke (coming from bay area 2020 fire season). The downside of the hvac system in the tesla is the propensity to build up condensation though....that starts to smell like cheese and is inside the ducts. Still haven't figured out...
just saw your update as I was typing a reply to your original note. congrats! please post back with impressions. fingers crossed I get an update soon as well.
I hear you. Similar timeline. 11/27/2018 res. I have a feeling the vehicle is at the South SF service center based off of some forum photos, but haven't heard from my guide that it officially arrived there. I am worried that's a bad sign (failed PDI, etc.). Trying to time the sale of a vehicle...
Interesting, looking at delivery velocity, it seems like there was a 2 week pause/lag in mid october. Wondering if they are addressing any issues that are slowing down PDI or if other factors (pending train strike) are impacting things. I have a strong suspicion that my vehicle has been at the...
Yeah I agree, the truck should trounce the m3d, but in practice the m3d “feels”quicker due to throttle mapping. As soon as you touch the accelerator it leaps off of the line. In contrast the r1t needs you to mash the pedal all the way to the floor to get that level of response. Should be a quick...
Appreciate the honest review. I felt the same "wait a second" response after driving the R1T in first mile tests I have a M3D and felt that the R1T was slower due to throttle mapping (i.e. you have to mash the pedal to the floor to access any power whereas the M3 requires just a few mm of...
any updates from folks with a south SF service center delivery of an R1S? Just curious if those vehicles had gone through PDI already at this stage or if they are still hanging out.
congrats! I'm guessing/hoping you are testing "camp mode" in this photo based on the height differences between F/R suspension. glad to hear the issues appear minor so far and enjoy the ride!
I’ve heard similar things. I think it boils down to the pre delivery inspection length and backlog based on the service center. If it’s a busy site or they are addressing a lot of other issues then the pdi can take a few weeks. I think I’m in the same boat. I haven’t confirmed this yet but I...
Is it just me or does that look like it’s leaning heavily toward the passenger side? (Aka the suspension issues a lot of folks are having) I’d expect it to look like it’s leaning the other way for road drainage.
Agree with you. at almost 100lbs I can’t imagine a good solution. Roof mounting is not an option if you are solo. Heck, even hitch mounted is a no go unless you are very strong and can handle the wheel solo (they are gigantic). Maybe a ramp system that goes to a hitch carrier?
Awesome sight. The 3 R1Ss look like my config (train left normal ~3 weeks ago at this stage) so I'm hoping one of them is the right match. just shy of the 4 year mark :),
Congrats! Sounds like your guide is on top of it. Please report back RE any issues that have been popping up on the forums...
I saw another thread (which I inconveniently cannot find now) where someone took some pics of the SSF service center last night with several R1Ss lined up. Could be the shipment! Unsure though if it's an earlier one that they're still doing PDI on. I will try to locate and link.
EDIT: here is...
