Did a long drive along the Skyline Drive and the entire Blue Ridge Parkway last week. We used a total of 8 different RAN sites. One thing we noticed is sometimes the cabinets would be lit up with a white light around the cabinet (turns green while charging) but not all of them. We sometimes...
Actually, if you look at the layout for either Tesla or Rivians you have to pull forward on one side or back in on the other in order to use. This orientation actually works out for both.
I've been planning a trip over the Blue Ridge Parkway in late October for a few months now. I've been tracking the status of all these RAN chargers mentioned in the story for months hoping they would be online in time for our trip (which they are now). I'm a bit confused on why this story...
Last year's implementation required purchasing after the start of the cycle. So only those purchases after November 1st will be valid and then you have to apply within 90 days of purchase. But we'll see when they clarify.
Should be able to lock with the sw update being pushed today. It no longer says lock speaker but instead lock compartment. It was highlighted in another thread.
R1T LE Green, 20" AT, BM interior owner since March 25th from Spring Grove, IL (at WI border just past Fox Lake). Yet to find any offroad options nearby. Planning to do part of Georgia Traverse and full length of Blue Ridge Parkway in the Fall and then a trip to Colorado next Summer to go up...
I had two brackets that weren't sitting flush before I ground them down. One was on a plastic panel. I would worry that over time the panel might give a bit and thus you might end up with slight movement on your running board. The other was sitting on top of the washers holding down two...

I did my install on Father's day as well. Decided to go with the slot method which in the end I'm glad I did because two of the brackets did not fit right and I had to grind them down to fit around other bolts in the frame. Took me about 5.5 hours total mostly solo...
I did my install today. Decided to go with the slot method which in the end I'm glad I did because two of the brackets did not fit right and I had to grind them down to fit around other bolts in the frame. Took me about 5.5 hours total mostly solo except when mounting the actual running...
Where there's a will there's a way. I've been getting by pulling a camper with just 100 miles of range and can find usable chargers (The two stalls I'm blocking here were actually down). More and more stations are coming on line and money from IRA requires CCS connection.
I purchased this and have it installed. I don't have any close up pictures but they wouldn't look any different from what he has posted on his website.
cons: (1)These are made in a home workshop. There are going to be tolerance issues with the truck rails. My set arrived and were incredibly...
I am from Illinois and since I put down my reservation in April '22 I had set my delivery address as the factory address. I also told my guide I wanted to pickup at factory. My main reasons for doing the factory pickup (1) faster pickup not having to wait for transport to Chicago and then...
Picked up R1T on March 25th. No frunk or cabin 12V outlet. Was told there was a part shortage and that is why they were removed. I use a rear view camera on my camper. On a test towing drive recently I used a 10ft 12V extension cable from the frunk outlet through the gear tunnel access door...
My understanding is that there was a problem with the supplier and they have no parts for the one in the cabin. They should have still cut the hole and allowed it to be added back in later. As for how do we hook that up, that is the purpose of the 12V extension cable I mentioned.
You are looking at the wrong problem. The camera is getting power from the 12V supplied to the camper via the 7 pin trailer cable. The 12V needed in the cabin is for the monitor using the camera on the back of the camper as a rear view mirror.
I purchased a 12V extension cable from Menard's for $8. They have at Home Depot too. Plugged it into the 12V in the gear tunnel and ran it through the access door between the rear seats. This was for my rear view camera on my camper. Not ideal especially since the cable dangles over the...
What I really should have done is detached the trailer, weighed the truck again to get just front and back and then re-attached trailer and the sway bars and weighed yet a third time. Then I would get a better idea of what the actual tongue weight is. I believe it's around 300lbs for this...
I did my first tow test today and I saw the exact same issues you are reporting. Initial range cut in half then slowly worked it's way back to what it would be not towing and never adjusted based on the actual current efficiency.
