FYI, new Rivian Space in San Francisco is now also taking Service appointments. They have a very small shop on the side with two lifts. They called me to see if I wanted to move a scheduled mobile service in early July to tomorrow. Which I didn't, as it is still a ½ hour drive into SF and I only...

Hayward CA Service Center looks like it is close. And it looks huge - a lot of service doors and L2 chargers. There is also a rail line right behind the buildings, so maybe it can be a rail delivery center. Though the rail lines look rusted, so maybe not active.
Based on job postings, looks like new Rivian service center coming to Rohnert Park, CA. Doesn't show yet on official Rivian map of coming soon. And the city's permit website doesn't allow public searches by name, so I cannot verify a location.

I have free RAN charging for the next year (referred two friends), and maybe there are a lot of folks who also have the free RAN, and Rivian is trying to make up for the loss.
But my guess is that with the new rollout of non-Rivian charging on the V1.5 stalls, Rivian is indeed setting the...
Got it. I hadn't even noticed that Rivian had removed some tentative new service centers. Looks like they changed their mind on a few of them. Maybe just a priority call, and they will get to them later.
Mobile tech confirmed Rivian is hiring for service center in Hayward, CA. He lives in Hayward and hoping to be based there.
From public permits, not sure if it is

My take: It is MobileEye for right now, and they are continuously gathering data and developing their NVDA/Orin solution in parallel. The R2 will probably use NVDA/Orin only (save cost), and so by 2026 they have to get their in-house (NVDA/Orin) solution. working And at that time they go...
Sometimes they have a unified software image, with both Gen1 and Gen2 using the same version. Though the two beta testers on ElectraFi who have installed 2024.51.1 are both Gen1 R1T.
I did some digging into Orland CA City meeting minutes. Looks like the city has a requirement that Rivian could only proceed if the charger was open to all vehicles, including non-Rivian.
Now that the 1.5 chargers with card swipe are being deployed, hopefully this will move ahead.
The four beta testers who are on on ElectraFi started installing on Thursday. For a minor update, it is usually 3-4 days before general rollout. For a major update, it is usually over a week, and often we see newer .1 versions come out if the beta testers find issues. We can also see the .0...
Anybody have eyes on Placerville CA? It must be very close, and now that it looks like all new sites are using V1.5 stalls, it should be open to all vehicles.
Just picked up my R1S Gen2 Tri yesterday, and trying to sell my R1S Gen1 Quad Launch edition. I agree with all the points made by OP. Audio is *slightly* worse than my old Meridian, but I am not an audiophile so the new Premium works for me.
Range on All-Purpose looks like about 350 miles, but...
Keep in mind that Rivian needs the LTE connection for their own purposes, whether the customer needs it or not. They suck huge amounts of data from the vehicles, like telemetry (road/map info, how HWA is working, to help improve HWA), diagnostics. They also use it for OTA updates, remote...
Seems odd that there is no RAN in San Jose, and nothing planned. Rivian has corporate offices in San Jose and Palo Alto, but the app doesn't even show Waypoint at either.
One could argue that San Jose has lots of other L3, especially with Tesla SC now available. But with the new referral...
RivianTrackr gets their info from ElectraFi. I am also on ElectraFi. Two of the beta testers, one R1T and one R1S, are also on ElectraFi, so as soon as they get the release, we ElectraFi subscribers see it. Of course Rivian knows these two are on ElectraFi, so I suspect they are "almost-ready"...
