Tires are the only thing between you and certain death so it's not wise to try and cheap out on them. Only buy tires from reputable manufacturers, there are so many review tests/videos out there validating this.
Just make sure you call and speak with the service center about reprogramming. My local center said they wouldn't do it unless I was installing the 21" wheels and tires as a set from Rivian.
Any update on the drone/noise at moderate speed as they break in more. Not sure where you live but any idea on winter weather performance?
10-20% drop from AS to AT seems about right. Rivian quotes the same when going from AS to AT themselves so it checks out.
Thank you!
Yeah, stand by my assessment that these don't look as good as AT's but might still be the ticket given the performance you get out of them vs an AT that you'll never use the capabilities of.
Thanks. Now do factory wheels. :p
In all seriousness, these look ok. Not as good as AT's but functionally they are better if you're not going to off road them...which I'm not. Curious to see what the Nitto's end up being in 275/65/20 116H but I think these are now a leading contender...
Anyone with the 20" (don't care if it's 60 or 65) M/S2's have pics of what your R1 looks like with them mounted? Curious to see how these look vs the AT tires.
Because people going from the 21" wheels to the 20" wheels are going to the 275/60/20 tires that match the stock 21" tire diameter while the stock tires are 275/65/20. The 275/60 tires will also fit the factory 20" wheels (obviously) and are slightly smaller, cheaper, lighter, and more widely...
They said Q1 2025 but who knows how real that will actually be. They already have the ability to change the tire size, just a matter of making it user facing. I know that's a drastic oversimplification but it's better than starting from scratch.
With Rivian announcing that tire size changes are coming to the infotainment, I'm wondering if I try and drag out the stock tires longer until I can buy these...
Curious on how these do in the winter time and also for acceleration/handling vs the stock tires. I'm probably going to pull the trigger on getting a set in December sometime, the Pirellis are deafeningly loud and are pretty much done for anyway.
I had my truck the winter of 22-23 when we got a crapload of snow so the AT's have gone through some stuff and they did fine. I'm not going to suggest that they are better than a dedicated snow tire nor am I going to dissuade you from getting dedicated snow tires as I'm a HUGE advocate of them...
