The doors are pretty heavy, I usually have passengers not close them hard enough. I think that's more chalked up to them overbuilding them to provide some resistance to water entry.
How hard are you talking?
Oh I would absolutely love it, with one caveat. My solar panels would also have to be producing power even if the city power is down.
Right now if the power goes out, and even if it's sunny and perfect out, my panels won't make any power. If I had a battery backup, that would be different, and...
Regular ebike, I dunno if that's a good idea. There are a ton of them available by bike companies that will make a decent bike.
Now an electric motorcycle, or sur-ron competitor... That is interesting.
I have a sur-ron and r1t, and those two things seem to be perfectly made for each other.
I haven't run into any Bluetooth issues, but battery is a known and documented thing.
I honestly just drag the key along with me now days, it's better than having to charge my phone mid day and having the truck just unlocking and locking itself all day long in the garage while I'm inside.
Not sure about the actual power, but the regen feels the same. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to tell if it was halved. Rivian doesn't (yet) do brake blending, so I assume it's the same.
I went with a nema 14-50 a few years back, rather than a hardwired version. I figure in the lifetime of the house, who knows what electric cars will want and I don't want to have to deal with rewiring all the time.
I did find the included evse a bit slow, so I bought a semi permanent solution...
Not much, wheels and I think a label in a few places saying launch edition.
Are you trading in at all? If you are, you may have tax incentives to trade into the dealer that you won't get private party.
I had to override abrp's wh/mi setting. It had it way lower than I was seeing. Once I got that dialed in, it was getting me very accurate predictions.
Annoyingly, I accidentally hit the 'reset' button, so I can't remember what that setting ended up being...
Hey here's the good news. On 21s, in conserve mode, doing an average of 70mph, I was pretty easily getting 330-340 miles of range. That was running though large elevation changes at about 80f with no wind.
It looks like a lot of the "mid 200s" range tests either use 20s, or all purpose mode...
As much as I would love to see the max pack, and someone who had it originally configured (and would still today if I could get my hands on it), I have to say that I agree with you.
While I think Rivian is in a decent position, financially, they've taken a couple hits lately at the worst...
From what I understand from third hand knowledge is you only qualify for the credit if you plan on keeping the vehicle. No clue what that means, or even if it's true, but I've been under the impression that flippers don't qualify for the credit.
Honestly kinda happy he is reviewing it as a snapshot of the truck in its current state. In the past, I got caught up in Teslas "it doesn't do it now, but it will soon" hype and ended up buying a car on the promise of features that were never delivered after years of "it's coming soon!".
Sure, but at least until R2 (2025) there is really no competing truck that would also qualify for the credit. Even if there was, Rivian has no lack of demand. If orders in vs orders out keep up as they are, they will be unable to fill their backlog until R2 is out and they (hopefully) qualify...
Ah sorry, yes that is what I was getting at. The bottleneck is production, caused by the shortage of parts. With their constant reiteration that they can do 25k this year, 50k normally, that tells me that they must assume they will be getting more parts in and will be sustainable at 50k a...
Looks like pretty much as expected. I was hoping their loss would be a smidge less, but it is slowly trending downwards.
I think the ev credit loss sucks, but I don't think it'll be as bad as it seems like it would be. They are still increasing orders even after the price increase, and even...
Don't have any solid post update numbers, but I have noticed the truck is able to go to sleep now even with the phone app running. Previously the truck would never sleep.
With it in sleep mode, my drain is down to a level I would consider reasonable, similar to my model 3.
