  1. New Rivian Look / Update - SUCKS

Yes to odo, trip, clock, weather, also “now playing”, small “constant” display of efficiency on driver display. Also don’t need to keep tire pressure on full time so that tile can be better used, for maybe off road stuff. Also current elevation on the actually map in the large screen would be nice.
  2. Top Speed of Gen 2 R1 Ascend Models = 130mph in Launch Mode / 110mph all other modes

Well not everyone needs go past 100 MPH but also not everyone needs 500+hp, nor 4wd, nor 7 seats, nor high towing capability. So that’s why people can chose to use what they need from a vehicle and not use the rest. Some people simply want more speed from their high price investment and that’s...
  3. Gen 2 R1S Delivery Woes

I’d also say, depending on the issue, they usually fix everything that they need to when you first bring it back after delivery, and for me I’ve not needed to go back for any manufacturer defect after they addressed everything in the first visit. Just think of it as delayed delivery of your new car.
  4. Gen 2 R1S Delivery Woes

Yes, in the past they have prioritized new delivery woes to front of the line.
  5. Next Batch of NACS Adapters Shipping to Rivian Owners!

What states was this? In Moab, Utah in April it was between 0.48-0.56c. RAN is the best all around. I only roadtrip to places where I have access to a few of those.
  6. Next Batch of NACS Adapters Shipping to Rivian Owners!

With the Tesla surpercharger prices I’m not that anxious to receive mine. Used a few magic dock sites on a road trip and with the slow speeds, exorbitant prices, and short cables, I’m avoiding SC as much as possible.
  7. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

Even the cybertruck suffers from the charge port location and the current superchargers. https://electrek.co/2024/05/06/cybertruck-will-be-another-casualty-of-teslas-supercharger-pullback/ Minute 28. Even the cybertruck struggles a little from the charge port location and the current...
  8. I changed my mind on Max Pack

At the very least I can drive a little faster with the Max pack and use that added range to get there sooner. Or sometimes bad weather forces you to use 4x4 thus less range. Or being able to use onboard power without reservation while camping. Or make room for that vampire drain during cold weather.
  9. I changed my mind on Max Pack

I agree that the price difference is way too much for the minimal gains in range. I have 20” AT wheels…which I “need” and I tend to travel long roads trips and come across chargers that are broken and wish I could go another 20-30 miles to a better one. Many times just a few more miles could...
  10. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

With all this talk of curbside charging, I’ve never experienced or seen it. Shouldn’t curb charging still happen just the same with the charge port at the front and even at the driver side with a 6-10” cable? Does it make sense to compromise a system that already works great or well enough just...
  11. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

That’s a Walmart Mainstays folding table with adjustable legs. And I can move it anywhere.
  12. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

Now makes me wonder what a Tesla driver does when they have bikes on the back and need to charge??
  13. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

Thanks! It’s definitely an adventure (no pun intended) having it live up to life it was intended for. Your time will come.
  14. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

Thanks a lot! It’s a work in progress. Do you have a build? If you do like it enough I’ll shamelessly solicit a subscription from you at my amateur YouTube channel. Lol! @rivilanding.
  15. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

I’ve spent thousands of miles doing road trips in my R1S and R1T, and after charging at various types of chargers and locations, and facing all sorts of challenges…it would totally frustrate me if the charge port was in the rear. I usually have a packed car and bikes on the back thus backing up...
  16. Good News

This is coming from a self-proclaimed passionate car guy, who’s owned a few fast cars and driven everything in between, I really like Rivian. I’m on my second Rivian and looking forward to the R2 and R3 ownership in the future… and for some strange reason all other cars are fading in the...
  17. Sixth R2 Teaser Posted!

Maybe an electric version of the mavericks and Santa Cruz could sway some big city folk.
  18. Sixth R2 Teaser Posted!

It’s not the third brake light since the other brake lights aren’t on at the moment. So most likely the whole top bar will illuminate when the brakes come on.
  19. Rivian was listed among Consumer Reports "Worst Car Brands for 2024"

These two sentiments and definitely co-exist. I felt that way about my manual 2013 Audi S4. The most satisfying car to drive and have but broke my heart and wallet every month with repairs. I miss that nightmare.
