  1. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I went 153 miles and used 79% of my battery pack. I try to stay between 65-70 mph. My TrailManor has a low profile, like your boat, but is heavier so you should have no problem going the distance without a charge. I average 1.35mi/kWh towing that trailer...

  3. Has anyone had Rivian NOT recommend the 3 year brake flush?

At 70K miles on my 12/2022 R1T, I had the subframe replaced. During the replacement, it was required to replace the control arms and steering knuckles, so they did a brake flush too. I guess I'm good for another 3 years.

  5. Marin / NorCal Owners need electrician recommendation

I don't have any recommendations on who to work with, but do a search for ev rebates in Marin County and you might find some good rebates for a free EVSE (charger) and recommended electricians.
  6. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

Don't debate about it and just do it! Watch the videos and follow the Google Doc on installation and you'll be fine. After I installed my 3X on my R1T, I also installed it on a R1T and R1S from members of our Rivian Club and another person on Facebook came by to take a look on the unit and...
  7. XCare Extended Warranty on Rivian: My Full Claim Experience (And Outcome)

I chose the $0 deductible. Already have 3 claims since the extended warranty kicked in around Memorial Day weekend last year. Claims have almost been double of what I paid for the warranty so far.
  8. Adjusting charge current in app difficult

I don't find it too difficult. From the main screen, select the green Energy tile, then scroll down to Schedule and select it, scroll down a little bit on that page and you'll see the section to adjust amperage.
  9. Weight does make some difference

There are too many variables to factor in. Speed is the main factor to reduce efficiency. I have pulled my TrailManor 2619 for 5000 miles with my R1T this past year and the efficiency was from 1.12 to 1.46 mi/kWh averaging 1.35 mi/kWh for all the trips. It calculates the trailer weight between...
  10. The best and worst vehicle to move with. [RANDOM RANT]

The day after I got my PTC replaced to v2 in December, the strut failed too. Replaced it at the Service Center last month for $374, which was paid by my extended warranty. The tailgate cap was replaced last October for $273.68. Have your PDR guy go ahead and pop that cap off and eat the cost...
  11. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

The trade-in value is so bad! While in Jushua Tree last May, I got an estimate while visiting the RAN Outpost there. For my '22 LE R1T, at 58,219 miles, the trade-in estimate was $51,820. On December 31st, at 71,324 miles, the trade-in value dropped to a whopping $33,350!!!! Yup....keeping...
  12. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

I have a '22 LE R1T too. Had charging issues on my last road trip in September with 70K miles. Service Center couldn't find anything wrong in their diagnostics. Sometimes it would start up fine at a RAN and then error out at some point during the charge. Then it wouldn't communicate by...
  13. Used R1T purchase / extended warranty advice?

Door gaskets, trim, & subframe are a few things that they don’t cover. Here is the section of my contract of items not covered: W H A T I S N O T C O V E R E D : Unless expressly provided herein, Coverage is not provided under this Contract: A. For any repair or replacement made without...
  14. Used R1T purchase / extended warranty advice?

Rivian doesn’t deal with third party payments so you pay first, then XCare will send a check or ACH if you’ve submitted the paperwork. Process is pretty simple. Schedule an appt to get work done. File a claim online with XCare. Get an estimate with “cause of failure” items and submit to XCare...
  15. Used R1T purchase / extended warranty advice?

I bought my LE '22 R1T w/21K miles on it from a Rivian employee in May '23. I now have almost 72K miles on it and have enjoyed putting all those miles on it. Get the extended warranty. It'll be worth it. Right before my warranty expired in May '25 I had some repairs and a final...
  16. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

I went with XCare from xcelerateauto.com. They've been servicing Teslas for a long time. I just get the estimate and send it to them, they approve whatever is on their approved items, you get it fixed, and they send you a check or ACH. It's a pretty simple process. Since my R1T is a very...
  17. Jack Puck Recommendations

jackpucks.com has different size jack pucks that you can buy.
  18. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

I'm keeping mine for as long as I can. Now that I'm out of warranty, here are my suggestions: 1. Get the extended warranty!! Rivians are expensive to fix. I've already had $20,350 in repairs since it went out of warranty last Memorial Day Weekend. EW covered $14,180 but the other $6170 was...
