It looks like we're going to be all electric once my R1T arrives. I have motorcycles that are ICE, and I think that will be so for another 5-10 years, but for cars we'll have a Model Y, Model X, and then R1T. If the R1T is really good, the X will go, perhaps replaced by a Model 3 Performance...
FWIW, the Tesla plug is better, much easier to use. Had Tesla been able to convince the world to go that direction, it would be a little bit easier for all of us every time we charge. Not to mention we’d only have to wait for the software right now to use Superchargers instead of hardware and...
Yep, that makes a lot of sense. The tires I'm sure are a huge limiter. Again, 7000lbs, 800+HP...yeah I want some stout, high speed rated tires! AT's probably are going to cut it! I wonder if the 20's, 21's, and 22's all have their own unique limiter MPH's? Or at least AT's vs the other two...
I'm thinking it's more like the 7000+ pounds of vehicle with 800+ HP. Not to say that the other two aren't wicked heavy and wicked powerful, they are. Most larger vehicles with squishy suspensions I've had have a limiter in the 100MPH range, including a couple Raptors. I suppose the R1S could...
That is correct, the Tesla app is how the charger would communicate with the non-Tesla vehicle. This isn't all that difficult really, a Tesla sold adaptor and the app and it would work. It would not be as seamless as a Tesla vehicle, but that's fine for both the Tesla owner and the non-Tesla...
I was wondering the same thing. It would be interesting to know the sample rate of people who are experiencing vampire drain and use Spotify and vice versa. Or, as you said, log out of Spotify and see the results.
When I get my truck in a couple weeks it’ll be parked in subterranean parking...
Anyone have updates on either of the Austin locations? I tried searching, here and online, but didn't find much.
I'm thinking of making a roadtrip from L.A. to Austin in April with a motorcycle in the back of my R1T. But it may be too much charging time and too much stopping for my taste.
When I saw the layoffs this morning I pinged my Guide to see if he responded. He did respond with about an hour and assured me my truck is still slated to arrive in mid-February on the slowest train that ever crossed the country.
So it does not appear to have impacted my particular Guide in...
I pinged my Guide this morning, sort of checking on that 6% workforce reduction, and he responded promptly that my truck is still on the train that is due to arrive mid-Feb.
And he promised me the wait will be worth it so I'm assuming that means the truck will be 100% trouble-free for the life...
Oh man…….I should hit up my Guide and see if there’s an update. I just can’t believe the train is that slow, maybe it’s floating around the SC.
Congrats on the Friday pickup, BTW!
Yeah that area is a no-man's land for charging at the moment. Something near the Salton Sea would probably make it all doable. And per Rivian's mission, it's such a great place to get out and explore. That entire area may see a resurgence now that GM invested heavily into lithium mining, so...
LOL, man Tes, uh, I mean Rivian is so rad! Endlessly rad.
No updates that I’m aware of. I just spoke with the Guide on Thursday and he mentioned late February so I think I just sit tight for awhile. I mean it does seem like that a really long time for a train to cross 2/3 of the country. It’s...
No I doubt it. I'm never a fan of the look of running boards in general. And climbing into the vehicle keeps the family and I in tip top shape, they love it. Particularly good for this was a G550 4x4 Squared I had back in 2017. Getting in and out was always a crowd pleaser.
But I...
