I spoke with CS earlier this week and they confirmed that water will not enter the cabin when going through 3ft of water! How do they acheive that magic???
This picture may have solved my question of whether or not to choose the 22 inch wheels. While we don’t get much snow in Virginia, I certainly don’t want to be stuck with that little amount.
Although I am not in line for the R1T, I do have a 2000 Ford F-150 long-bed with pretty much 0 options (it has roll-up windows for God’s sake!) but I always find myself stepping up on the back tire to get into the bed, or sitting on the tailgate and swiveling around. Am I crazy? Perhaps since...
I am still hemming and hawing over the choice of wheel, and while I know we don't have to decide now, I am curious to see if anyone has any predictions:
If we go with the 21" wheels, anyone want to take a real guess at the cost of each tire? $350? $400? $500?
Does anyone want to guess at the...
So, can anyone think of a possible way to order the 21” wheels and not get screwed by the fact that there will only be one possible tire replacement? What about things like supply issues? I am fine using the 21” wheels and tires but I am worried.
Thoughts anyone?
I, for one, am having a really hard time figuring out which wheels to go with because there seem to be some major pros and cons with each. So, I would love to hear everyone's opinion to see what I am getting wrong or forgetting. Disclaimer: I know we don't have any actual efficiency or rolling...
I am curious about A Better Routeplanner and the assumptions made on the site. For one thing as mentioned above, they have two very different consumption numbers listed for the R1S and R1T: The R1S has an assumed reference consumption of 459 WH/MI and the R1T has an assumed reference consumption...
Uhoh. I see the R1S says “available with 7 seat interior”. Any bets on how much more that might cost? Scratch that. I see that is the only option with the launch edition. Phew!
I saw the 7 seat comment as well for the long range edition! Well crap! This is going to be a tough decision. Maybe, since my expected delivery date was supposed to be something like April of 2022, I can still get the long range 7 seater by then!
My observations in addition to the above: (Full disclosure: I may have missed some of these updates from prior posts)
1. Steering Wheel isn't round! (thank God!)
2. RIVIAN is clearly written on back tailgate (I thought this was not going to be as prominent but I think it is a good move)
3...
Earlier this month, I asked a question regarding space of the RS1 vs a Suburban but I realize that is an absurd comparison. I am going to make the R1S work regardless and I think I have figured out the space comparisons for anyone who is interested.
Yukon/Tahoe Space behind 3rd row: 15.3 cuft...
R1S 135kWh

Forest Edge
Electrochromic roof

Also, I currently have a Yukon XL and we use it for a few trips / year. One trip is often for 3 weeks so we take a good deal of stuff. I know one answer is that we can reduce the number of items we bring (and volume) but i am curious what others think about true usable space. We have 3 kids and...
