If only we could find out where Rivian sources their 12V outlets...
I found this OEM Ford outlet for $20 on eBay. Closest thing to OEM Rivian I could find.
I took the Peak Design charger mount and chopped off the ball mount on the back so I had a flat surface.
I cut up another charger and epoxied the equivalent of this on the back...
I have something similar. Very apparent on textured or rough roads. Putting some weight on the middle of the dash seems to help. Truck is going in on Nov 29th for a dozen small issues including this one. I REALLY hope they can fix it because it tends to ruin the driving experience...
Ooh nice find! Yes 17mm means that would work.
UPDATE: I ordered this part to check it out. The ball mount is actually smaller than 17mm which means the protruding ball is 17mm. Not sure why they would do it this way... Use this info as you will, but that means you can't use this with the Peak...
Like most, I'm dubious on these being used as sliders. If they want to sell a lot of these, they'll release more photos or videos of them being properly put through rigorous use (and lower the price by about $1k...).
For the moment, I will be waiting for others to come out with their variants...
Ha yeah I wouldn't dare try to compare the weight of these two trucks. Just providing a baseline on the Tacoma sliders.
I agree with you though, I would expect closer to 100lbs per side. I would be iffy on trusting them as sliders otherwise. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
Yup... I was on a mission to find the best solution.
If you did the Just Wireless charger with the Riviparts Pro mount, you'd be right around $50 all in.
Target carries it...
I chopped up a Peak Design charger and a Course Motorsports charger, then mated up the 17mm ball mount with epoxy. Expensive way to charge your phone but it works as intended. With enough people asking Peak Design to make this, maybe they would consider it.
Here's what the Course Motorsports...
@RWerksman Here are a few pics. Showing my installed "customized" Peak Design charger as well as the other "Just Wireless" charger.
All in all, the 17mm ball mount with the chargers I mentioned positions the phone in a decent place and has zero movements.
I imagine some people might prefer the...
I've now tried 3 different phone chargers and 3 different Riviparts mounts (OCD FTW). I've cut up mounts and epoxied different things together to try and make the perfect iPhone mount for myself.
I currently have a Peak Design case on my iPhone 13 Pro so I started with a Peak Design car...
Sorry for being vague. Referring to the price jumping up when trying to check-out for the rubber mat. Apparently it's more expensive for some zipcodes.
I'll be using your measurements to cut my bedrug out. Thanks for putting that together!
I just came from 6yrs in a 2017 Tacoma. I immediately noticed how much better the Rivian seats are the very first second I got in my new truck. Night and day.
