I'm in your camp. To those that say I failed to plan hasn't tried traveling in areas like eastern WA where EV is almost nil and chargers are few and many broken. I won't take a long road trip unless I know there is RANs or possibly 350EAs until we can get on NACs. This will truly save this and...
Ive had virutally no problems with my S. I think the handling got better as it broke in and the latest update made it even better. Once we get on the Tesla Chargers network my only complaints are R1 specific related to GPS/maps/UI
Just got off a 1600 mile trip from SF BayArea to Eastern Washington. Although I had RANs and good EAs in CA and OR , rural areas was a total fail and I hate to admit if I had a Tesla would have been fine. Granted this is my first EV but range anxiety was real. This was a test adventure and we...
Keep an eye on your tire wear. Conserve gives you about 10% more range and being in that mode for most of your driving will eat up your tires quick. Make sure to rotate more regularly as well. Lots of threads on the subject.
Thanks for posting pix. I have one on pre-order and that looks pretty nice. I was hoping to get for my big trip to the PNW, but will have to wait. At least I got in before the sell out.
Agree have to set expectations but most of us bought these things blind and had no knowledge they would not spend enough money to have reasonable service throughput. If I remember they even said not to worry as they will have a large mobile network. They also do things very inefficiently, such...
If they are close to the R1T CK, I think it was in the 5-7K range, itll be interesting to see if they really sell many or its just sort of a unique accessory that gets some attention for the vehicle. Obviously it would be custom fit and use power instead of gas but Im sure something like this...
Agree, just as Tesla SC are putting in CCS taps, the other companies should have the technology to have NACS taps until one standard is adopted by the manuf. It still seems still a split as some like Rivian will be moving to NACS and others are banding together to install CCS stations. Bottom...
Ouch $5K, My proposed for 250k/250k if $1095 for 6 mos, which is 25% more than I had with my last 6 mos (Im being penalized due to my last agent screwing up)
We are not gonna be able to get these things insured. Here in CA they are cracking hard and most carriers not writing new business. Im in a bad position where my Farmers agent didnt submit a bunch of verification pictures, etc for a current policy so they dropped me even though I followed thru...
Looks similar to this one
https://electruck4x4.com/products/panoramic-roof-shades-for-your-rivian-r1s
Which is $20 cheaper but on pre order and not sure when it's shipping to me. Maybe I'll get both and see which one is best
They absolutely need a *temp* center for new deliveries. This will take the pressure off the SC. I think they should slow down deliveries until they can catch up with fixing the vehicles they have on the road if they are going to intermingle the process. I know they need to show new deliveries...
I agree with you, everyone has different sensitivities. My last car I drove was my company car, a Kia Niro so I have little complaints of how the suspension is. If your last vehicle was a Range Rover I might feel differently.
If it wasn't for these forums I wouldn't be scrutinizing panel gaps...
I think some of the concern with issues ppl have is the expectation of what you get for a $80K vehicle. For some (like me) this is by far the most expensive vehicle Ive ever purchased.
