Issue after updating:
After updating the Rivian Android app to 1.15.1 on 07/12/23 I noticed that the vehicle wasn't updating it's status in the app. The max charge percentage, lock and unlock status and vehicle charge status were incorrect. Force closing and opening didn't do anything to resolve the issue. I also attempted a soft reset of the truck and that didn't help either. Commands were sent to the truck successfully however nothing was reflected in the app.
Phone: Pixel 7 Pro
Android Version: 13 / July Patch
Support:
I contacted chat support and they suggested I sign out and back in of the app.
The problem:
I sent a lock command to the truck, while at home, to see if the app would update. It locked the truck and it didn't update. Because I have the truck set to not respond to PaaK while at home I was unable to use the phone to get into the truck as it wouldn't automatically unlock in presence. Since the app wouldn't update I had no way to open the truck via the app as it still showed unlocked and pressing unlock when it thinks it's unlocked does nothing. A key fob was required to access the vehicle. Not a huge issue since I was home and this wouldn't have happened away from home.
Per support I logged out of the app and when I attempted to log back in the 2FA code kept coming back as invalid. I logged in to the website just fine with 2FA. I uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, disabled 2FA online, reinstalled the app and still can't login. Now it fails login at the login prompt. There's no way to log back into the app. I contacted support again and they said they would report it to the diagnostics team.
Concern for anyone else:
Make sure that if you have this issue and/or support recommends a logout/login, that you have another key available otherwise you might be stranded or locked out.
