Who's holding out for Standard AWD R2?

Who is holding out to buy this??? It's $2,000 less than Premium, and lacks:

• Premium interior with wood accents, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and Rivian Torch flashlight
• Premium audio
• Rear drop glass
• Dynamic Adventure Lighting with Adaptive High Beams and Matrix LED headlights
• Tow hooks

That's easily $2,000 worth of added features. If you add 20" wheels, then it's just $1,000 less than Premium. If you want AWD, what's the point?

The drop glass alone is worth it, throw in everything else and it seems like a no-brainer, especially when already spending that kind of money on a vehicle. If the only thing that matters is cost, you're not buying a Rivian in the first place, youre buying some hideous ass Ioniq whatever.

drop glass; matrix headlights; upgraded interior; heated/vented seats all make it a no-brainer to me.

I was running some wiring on my R2 and discovered that mine, at least, was still prepped for the rear quarter windows to open. Wish they had made it an option.

I was really interested in the standard with awd and the larger battery. We live in an area that gets snow and AWD would be better for my wife to drive.

But for us in the high desert that gets very hot the ability to drop all windows quickly for is very helpful... Then we did our test drive and I can't figure out how I've managed to drive with a hot back and bum for all my life. Wish my commerical truck had vented seats.

It's premium for us.

that's where I'm at; Autonomy+ included in the Launch Pkg is a great value, but I'm fine without it. I don't take THAT many long road trips, and I can just turn it on for month

I agree, that's why I'll be buying the premium. The vented seats are a huge selling point for those in hit climates, which these days is most of us.

Cost is a factor for many people. Some will need to save where they can, the standard will sell but I'm guessing the premium will probably end up being the majority of sales.

Every manufacturer that has multiple trim levels that blend I to each other when adding accessories and options... Then Americans end up buying the top level that many can't afford.

It would be smart as some performance buyers would trade in to get the X version. Maybe of the R3X sells really well and the new factor is up and running but not until then.

While I haven't decided that I'm not ready to give up my R1T, the Performance/LE is the only version I'm interested in. Personally, I feel the LE is an amazing deal, and there is no guarantee that the advertised prices will be the prices at the time lower trims are actually ready for order. That said, I expect they will hit those targets because battery costs are dropping every year.

Agree with @forestwalker -- I just don't see how $1000-$2000 on a $51,000 car is the tipping point. This isn't a Corolla. The difference from Standard RWD, or even Long Range--I get it.
