Make Carplay/AA part of Connect+ - dont lose the $

I’d be willing to have it be an additional paid option of Connect+. I know, I hate subscriptions too. But as @emroch replied to my post, I would miss Overcast and iMessage, among other things. But as I said, I’m willing to drive the R2 with its hits and misses, and finds ways to cope with said misses.

Another thing I forgot to mention above that I’ll have to get used to, is the always on regen. Personally, I don’t think that’s most efficient way to drive. That’s my opinion and others can and will disagree.

I love the paddles in our EV6s. I can coast and use the paddles similar to a manual transmission downshift. That is why I’ve done 3-4 drives, trying to get used to it. However, my wife never uses them, so auto-regen is great for her.

Like I implied before, there are enough upsides to the R2 to overcome most of the downsides, at least for me.

I had a car with similar plastic trim in the trunk, and it was completely destroyed/deeply scratched after a few months of carrying bikes, strollers, sleeping in it, etc.

PPF won't stop scratches unless it's super thick stuff.

Put this ceramic coating on - best defense for the interior, and DIY'able. PPF - can do, only on 'smooth' surface. PPF - no go on textured surfaces.

Everything is wrong with that kludge: wrong place, wrong USB, no integration with Rivian navigation. That USB-C port is not a power port, it's a signal port for Gear Guard storage. I have USB-C thumb drive there, and that port cannot to be shared. No integration with navigation means Rivian has no idea there is tablet attached there, it doesn't supply any SoC, routing information, or autonomy.
But it's really unnecessary. Rivian is using Google API in its navigation, it's still in process of integration, but I'm sure, give it a few months and everything from Android Auto will be included and working natively.

Exactly, you need a rubber mat and liners to prevent scratches. Alternatively, a carpeted material can be used, but that accumulates dust and other stuff that my dog brings from walks. There are many choices on Amazon.
