I got the invitation email few minutes ago to order the new colors available,
I have gen1 r1t forrest green with forrest edge interior
I want the light interior
I like launch green but will bee too much green in my driveway
I like catalina cove but i feel most r2 are that color
I like borealis but i have to wait another month
what should i do

Wow, ok. Maybe I would have been invited today, but I caved and ordered the black interior a week ago. Lease is up in 7 weeks. Could have been close...or not. Got my delivery date today though Sept 5th.

Same issue, I’m going launch green with coastal cloud anyway. My favorite color is forest green though.

I saw it on the configurator when building out my order. But not after I placed the order. I think it was 8-12 weeks for Esker+Coastal Cloud.

Received invite to order 8/4 10:02am.
Received early access to new colors email today 8/18 at 2:50pm.

This is a really good idea to slow roll the release of the new colors to the people that have saved that configuration preference, similar to how they are doing the general order invites. This keeps them from having too many people in the “order to delivery” phase at any time. This will temper expectations on receiving the vehicle. As each new option is unlocked, there are potentially thousands (and soon to be tens of thousands) of orders that people are waiting to hit the submit button on. Releasing those gradually keeps the process moving as they ramp the production lines.

First hour reservation, order on 8/4, Coastal Cloud available today at 11am PT, order placed. Not prior Rivian owner. No delivery date or window that I saw.

No estimate in the account. Only showed when ordering. I imagine it will be quicker than the first deliveries being as far out as late October though.

Rivian strategy unclear to me, but no complaints. I'm a first time Rivian customer, placed my $100 deposit on July 1. Got my invitation to order last Tuesday and was able to add coastal cloud to my CC exterior color today. Dropped the extra $400 this afternoon and will assume that vehicle build begins soon....

They've stated there are several factors that impact order timing, and I'm sure there are many more that we can't see from the outside. One of the things they did announce is that they are randomly pulling late reservations forward so they can gather more representative demand/logistics data. So you could have gotten lucky, or be in an area where they want more demand data, or have saved a config as a favorite and they wanted to see if you would follow through, or ...
