I have VIN 2800 something. First pickup date with Tempe was 8/1. Pickup canceled at 4:45 p.m. on 7/31 for a "broken part." They rescheduled for 8/7 at 2:00 p.m. At 12:30 p.m. on 8/7, pickup was canceled due to a "bent charge pin" that was discovered when they installed the replacement part. No ETA for the new charge port harness.

It's been sitting in Tempe at least a week, if not more, so not sure why this wasn't found until the very last minute. Pretty disappointed with the Tempe SC, who are generally really wonderful and great.
Keep in mind, they are very overwhelmed right now with balancing R2 focus and existing work. Plus the logistics on part ordering/arrival for various R2 items. They will make it right because as you said they are fantastic.

Sorry, I fixed it. I got the email right before work and came straight here 😅
It looks like a Launch Green production run is in swing... good for me I hope!

My service center had about 5-8 R2s of various colors with 4000s and 2000s on the windows. I saw my first CC outside in cloudy weather [essentially navy blue], the very great looking silver, and the half moon grey for the first time.

Denver told me mine was scheduled to arrive on the 20th (CC in the 4400 range). Sure would be nice if you were at Denver and it was one of them, hehe.

CC could be mine if it was the Colorado Springs SC...

Fair enough, but I don’t think that is an excuse to cancel two deliveries hours before they’re scheduled. It’s a real bad look for the brand. Especially since the car sat there for a week between the two pre delivery inspections…

I agree. I think the short notice here is not ideal and I would definitely address that with the delivery team if I were you. They can't always control what happens but if they are not confident in delivery timing it is better to err on the side of caution and give more notice.

I know sometimes they wait until the last minute as they are optimistic they can get everything done. Hopefully you get some good news soon.

My delivery is scheduled to occur on Friday 170 miles from where we live (OKCTy). We plan to travel to a day early to get some other things accomplished. It would be highly frustrating and inconvenient to have our delivery appointment cancelled less than 24 hours prior to our appointment. I plan to reach out to Rivian tomorrow to convey this concern. I realize some variables are difficult to control but waiting until the afternoon of the day before to complete a PDI is unacceptable. If Rivian hasn’t learned to build cushion in the delivery schedules I’m candidly concerned about the fate of the company. This is business 101 stuff.

Again, I get it. Stuff happens.

The voicemail made it seem like they were putting the replacement part in that morning despite being delivered four days earlier. Again, this delivery team hasn't been real clear on what "part" was broken in the first place (other than it was a "simple fix"), or exactly how a bent connector pin in the charge port gets noticed two hours before delivery when I presume the car has been charged recently.

Maybe a flying saucer landed on it in the parking lot?

100% this. I'm hopeful mine was an isolated incident. But I'd for sure make it very clear to the delivery person that you're coming from XYZ and you need PDI done the day before your delivery.
