Update on R2 order invitation timing now in account

I’m guessing the color you selected will need to be manufactured while those getting invites have a vehicle readily available that matches their saved favorite. I suspect that is why I secured a much earlier delivery than anticipated. They might also be trying to balance out delivery loads on SCs based on delivery location. I’m getting a delivery through Oklahoma City, not exactly a hot bed of EV ownership. Of course this is merely conjecture.

I don't think that's the case. I've favorited all of the colors (except Borealis), and no bites... I've been Aug-Sep since June 30.... Even inquiries to the Rivian AI results in it politely telling me to go kick rocks. I know it's not true, but it's hard to not get the feeling that Rivian doesn't want my money.

Same bestie. Seeing people with December estimates getting their invites already feels bad.

Seriously, the R2 roll out seems about as well organized and predictable as the R1 was .... which was not at all. Keep your expectations in check, it will be here s00n - which in Rvian speak is anywhere between 1 week and 3 years.

While logged into your account configure a R2 with the interior color, exterior color and wheels you prefer and save that configuration as your favorite. You can save multiple configurations if you are torn between colors. Rivian can see configurations that you saved and may move you up in the invite list.

Proof of that? I've not seen confirmation anywhere that that is true, aside from Rivian confirming that I'll get an LE if I want one.

Not sure if there's a single factor that gives us any control over the outcome at this point.

It's hard to tell if those of us living in Texas are getting deprioritized based on location? I'd like to know if location is a greater consideration on who gets an invite and their R2...

Texas is the second highest on the order spreadsheet after CA, doesn’t seem deprioritized at all.

It's hard to say how they're determining who gets picked next to order. I am day one, hour one orderer, R1 owner, live within 10 miles of a service center. I've also done a test drive associated with my account.

I'm not complaining, I still have my R1S and will sell it when my R2 arrives but I mention it only because whatever system they are using seems puzzling.

I did just get an email with the subject “It’s almost time to order” and in the body says my invite is coming soon. Still shows as Aug-Sept in my account, so I’m going to hope that the email is meaningful and isn’t just a generic marketing email.
