He's using a different meter before and after so his "results" are meaningless, and any meter that is showing "100% Visible Light Transmission" is inaccurate. I would struggle to even believe 90%, just look at the factory glass, it's already pre-tinted!

The cut the shape on the outside with the clear film facing out. Then, they attach it to the inside. It's just easier to get the shape outside...

I thought so- but in the video it looked like he was also applying out. But appears he was just cleaning the outside at the end. The video edit makes it a bit confusing.

Oh sure. It's a laser Labs ainspector II. But it shouldn't be showing 100% when it's on glass unless it's some kind of super high grade optical lens glass. Glass blocks some light even without a Tint! He must have it miscalibrated (or is using it intentionally miscalibrated to show customers a "before" number of 100%, so that he can use the correctly calibrated meter after the tint to show customers a bigger "improvement" than facts would suggest.)
This thread has someone measuring the factory glass with some better info, if you're curious about how dark the factory glass is.

Comparing the center console surface temperature in two completely different vehicles seemed even more questionable than the measurements of the glass itself. It's hard to even guess how many variables there must be other than the window tinting.
