Do any early delivery buyers have any feedback on the R2's upgraded audio system?

All of one known delivery in entire forum membership…

Don’t worry about it:
- Hearing is not universal from one person/brain to another (no reason to take hot takes you read online to heart)
- Software is never finished until Rivian’s says “we’re ending development on this generation of product”. And audio quality isn’t just the hardware alone. There are three major components to audio and hardware is only a third.

From my demo drive I thought it at least met and maybe eclipsed the Bose system I have in my 2024 Mazda CX-50. Not an audiophile by any means but just to throw a data point out for you

I drove around all day yesterday listening to just about every type of music out there via Apple Music using the Rock equalizer and I thought it sounded great. Just as good if not punchier than the Bose speakers in my Bolt.

On my test drive yesterday I only used the FM stations and I thought it sounded acceptable.
I wouldn't say it was premium, but it was definitely acceptable. I'm very spoiled though, coming from a 1600w, 25 speaker Bowers and Wilkins system in my Polestar 3.

Also spoiled with the Bowers & Wilkins in my 2018 XC60. We didn't get to listen to much on our short demo drive, but I agree that R2 sound is acceptable.

45 minute long demo drive and this was one of the big things that I wanted to test.

Long story short - it's fine. Not class leading. Not terrible. Basically what you would expect.

As everyone else said, to most people, it will sound great. More selective people would find it decent. A true audiophile may find it disappointing but is nowhere near bad enough to ruin the vehicle. All depends on your point of comparison or music taste.

Source: Not an owner, but have been in an R2 several times to test this.

As others have said, nothing spectacular. But far from bad. The EQ is easy to use and has a lot of presets. If this is the "premium" version, I don't have very high expectations for the Standard version.

Less bass than the Alpine system in my Wrangler. But the highs and mids do sound very crisp, clear, and balanced.

Like 30 page AM/FM radio thread, the sound system (lack of) quality is also overblown. It's good, not great. But good.
In the plethora of threads that I've read regarding audio quality on R1, I've come to the conclusion that getting anyone else's opinion on how something sounds is pointless.

Listening is highly subjective to start, and then you throw in music type, source, and volume on top and you could have two people listening to the exact same thing with wildly differing opinions.

Agreed. And it's like that on almost everything else too. I went and test drove last week after having read just about everything on this forum, and I had no issues despite the countless things people didn't like about the car. Nothing substitutes going and seeing for yourself.

The scroll wheels are a little finicky though :D
