I recently did a day trip where I tried to charge at an FPL Evolution site. FPL uses MASSIVE cablesand handles that are highly unwieldy, and I noticed it was not seating exactly flush with my R1T charging port due to the strain. I started charging but almost immediately it stopped with a warning the FPL handle was too hot (it was 86F out). When I removed the handle one of my DC charging pin caps was captured by the handle. I had to fish it out and it looked like the electrode in the handle very slightly melted the plastic enough to grab it and keep it when I broke the connection. This cap is only there to prevent touching the Rivian electrode but I need to put it back. Does anyone know if I just push it back on or do I need some sort of adhesive? I can’t see anything on the pin or cap that would prevent the cap coming off again without adhesive.

I have read conflicting information on these forums and others that it may not be covered under warranty and that Rivian’s solution is to replace the whole charging port and cables. I am taking the truck in Monday for other work, and will ask but am not willing to pay thousands of dollars for a simple fix.

Do you have access to a 3D printer? Would be an easy part to reproduce, of course with a tight fit so it won't fall/pull off again.
