Weekend camping and wheeling turned in to recover mode with no cell coverage and the Toyota stuck in 4lo. Fortunately threw my recovery kit in at the last minute thinking if I have it I won’t need it.

The Rivian towed like a champ. I did move back to quad motors uphill because two struggled to retain traction in the dirt. Other than that range loss was manageable even after wheeling the day prior up to Hull Mountain and cooking all meals on electric surfaces.

The range anxiety has completely vanished after multiple off-road adventures and I have gotten much more comfortable managing the electrics while camping.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Looks like a fun time. I like the idea of pulling people out of ditches. I saw this YouTube video where this guy used a Quad to help people whose cars were stuck in the snow.

I can’t wait to car camp in my R2 when I get one next Summer.

Forgot the gratuitous mountain top tailgate lunch cookout!

The first thing I did was take it out of rock crawl to prevent the truck from rolling forward #becauseGravity. Then I put a rock next to the concrete platform and the front left tire. The carefully applied the accelerator pedal to not overdo it on the torque. Popped right up!! 😅

It’s awesome. Can’t say enough great things about my experience with the iKamper mini.

Nice trip. on your range anxiety comment, I've found especially in mountainous BC, that in spite of the huge efficiency hit heading up and into the mountains, the regen recoupling power on the return trip usually means I'm seeing paved highway efficiencies overall by the end of the trip, which has gone a long way to emboldening my desire to go even more remote, and further out :)

Totally!! It was wild the first time I experienced that.

I'm curious why the 4runner needed to be towed on a dirt road. It would still go 30 mph or so in 4lo?
