Hello! Looking forward to getting an R1S soonish. Not sure if the Menomonee Falls SC would ready in the next few weeks for deliveries, but if not, how is the Chicago SC?

It’s fine, though not terribly convenient. I’ve never had any Chicago-specific service issues. It’s annoying not being able to contact them directly and having to go through the centralized customer service, but that’s not unique to Chicago.

Not sure if it’s improved, but the one time I needed multi-day service they didn’t have any loaners and the vehicles offered by the local Enterprise were all terrible. I ended up with a banged up Mazda 3 that smelled like an ashtray.

I should also add that it’s inconvenient enough that I’ve put off several non-critical service items until the WI location opens. Things like rattles, missing bolts on the plastic underbody shield pieces, and the persistent creaking/groaning when starting from a stop.

Good to know Chicago SC is an ok experience. Going to Normal would be a little further out of the way than Chicago, but I'd be open to that if there was a big difference in the service centers. Looking at the Rivian site now, it has the Menomonee Falls SC as open M-F from 8am-6pm (no Saturday hours yet).

My truck is currently being serviced at the Menomonee Falls Service Center. When I pick it up I'll ask if they'll be doing deliveries there (I believe that was the plan, just not sure when it will start happening.)

Thank you! Looks like I've still got 1-2 months before delivery, so even if they are not ready now, if they are ready in a month or so, I would be good. Also curious if they plan to expand their hours to Saturday.

how soon is soonish. The area is right next to where the DNC will be. They already had some fencing up, and expect road closures. It also isn't in the greatest neighborhood either. Personally I hate the area they picked, but cheap land is cheap for a reason.

I just spoke with the manager there. We're looking to do a "behind the scenes" tour so we can all ask questions and get to know the team. I'll be in touch with everyone. DM me if you're interested.

Can they even legally do deliveries in WI? Thought you still have to do it in IL even though they have SCs here. Same as Tesla. Either way I'm picking up my 2025 R1S in Chicago next Monday.

Not yet. They're "waiting on paperwork" Can't wait to see pics.

As an update, taking delivery at end of August at Chicago SC, so Menomonee Falls seems to need more time to get fully up and running. Finally seeing Rivians by me. Noticed a green R1S parked across the street from my house when I received my delivery confirmation Wednesday and a blue R1T while grocery shopping last night.

Tried to schedule service for a few issues with the 2025 R1S I picked up 2 weeks ago. Menomonee Falls wasn't an option in the app so I'm going to wait. None of the issues are time sensitive so I can wait but hopefully they resume taking appointments soon.
