Just found out about a new TSB? Remove the bedliner to mitigate possible water intrusion and electronics damage

I'm here in the CT service center where I really hope they can fix the driver+ nightmare where I lose cruise control. The service writer also said there is a TSB where they need to take apart and remove the bedliner to mitigate a possible water intrusion issue where water can somehow work its way to sensitive electronics.

Anyone else here of this one?

I'm pretty sure I'm not affected by this but they've added to my workorder for driver+, tire rotation and new wipers.

I'm really going to miss stormbreaker while she's gets worked on. The other family vehicles are all gassers which take premium unleaded

I don't know what "a TSB" is, but FSAM-1755 ("Install water shield onto rear zone control module") was performed on my truck about two months ago.

Mine is in service right now. Had that TSB automatically added to the Service Work order. Didn't know anything about it until I signed off on the work order.

I've had mine "handles deep" in water before and it's not been an issue, wondering what they're changing.

Parts for the other fixes are due in today. I'll ask when I pick it up on Monday.

Ditto, just dropped my 2023 R1T DM large to get a new taillight and they added this FASM to my work order, along with another FASM dealing with the front suspension.

The full width tailgate taillight is $1735 total parts and labor To replace.

When the mobile service tech came to change my battery in my gen 1 R1t under warranty he also did the rear control module shield. All it is , is a sheet of clear plastic the size of a page of paper. He removed the right side and front bed plastic liners and unbolted the module in order to slip the plastic shield into place. A rather unsophisticated solution for a potential problem of unclear prevalence. Took about 30 minutes.

Have seen a few R1T's over the last couple of years have issues from water ingress in this area impacting the module. We've sent them all to the Service Center and had the modules replaced under warranty. Our Service Center also passed this along to the engineering team at the time.

Just had 4 of them sent to have this FSA completed! Props to Rivian for addressing this as a FSA!

They contact you. Or, they proactively add to your existing ticket. Or, you make a service request specifically for it—upon review/confirming appointment, they will verify if it's applicable to you.

Good to know. Mine has minor cosmetic damage, barely noticeable. I think I'll put it off for now.
