Never tried this but can you not do it from the 2nd row screen?
It would be great if the second screen converted to a control screen while in camp mode, but it doesn‘t seem to do anything special. Ordered from Alex for exactly this reason… not climbing over the front seats anymore.

Seems like so much more could be done with second screen functionality while in camp mode - especially if leveled…chances are someone is sleeping in there if leveled. :)

If you ordered an Auto-Mate, please be on the lookout for an email I sent this morning.

Hey @Alex - EV Play ,

Received my Auto-Mate device this week. (Thanks for your extra help getting me set up with the Andriod app. Never received the email invite for that.)
Having a great time experimenting with it.

Maybe file this as a feature request: Weather Triggers
  • I would love to be able to have the vehicle automatically open windows on warm days without precipitation as I enter it.
  • On days where it is relatively cool (65 to 75F), we prefer to turn off the climate and bring in fresh air.
  • Turn on those seat warmers on cold days or the seat fans on hot ones.
Would be wonderful to automate these sort of operations.

Any time!

Weather is something I can absolutely do, however, the limitation is that we can only click on things when the vehicle is awake and the center console USB ports have power. You could wake the vehicle prior to departure, and if your phone was close enough, the remote would connect and we could check the weather to run the respective sequence. But any sort of pre-conditioning would not be possible if the vehicle was asleep.

With that said, there is probably a way to do this via the app API workaround, if it still works? It's been a while since I checked and I assume they patched it.

And love the open windows idea, although (and correct me), opening them isn't something you can do from the center screen.

I think you are right about that. We do have "vent windows" in the Rivian app, but not quite the same and not something we might be able to automate.

Another silly idea... Might it make sense to run the Android app on my EV Play unit?

I don't want to touch my phone while driving and, absent a trigger, there are some "macros" I would love to run by clicking a custom button. Am I correct in assuming that the Auto-Mate device would send clicks and swipes to the (hidden) Rivian infotainment screen even while I'm looking at the EV Play android screen?

Yes, Auto-Mate still sends the clicks and swipes even if you're on the EV Play screen. The only issue is you would need to get a GPS working with EV Play. Or, I'm releasing a small device with physical keys on it that will run automations.

Awesome! I think that might actually make more sense for my setup.

I do have the GPS dongle you sent for my Gen 1 R1T, but still have that issue in that Location Services doesn't seem to reliably share GPS data to many apps. (e.g., Google Maps is able to get an initial fix when the app starts but does not update position and subsequently returns location fail errors. Other apps seem to fail outright.) Probably need to get that resolved first. I seem to recall GPS coordinates being shown in the EVPlay app, but don't see that in the current version. Anyway, you're right that it may not make sense to use EVPlay device for Auto-Mate until I get GPS working properly.

Same problem, Galaxy S25+. Reached out to Alex and said to unpair, uninstall app, reboot phone, re-install app and make sure it has all permissions which I did and still would not connect, or connect for very short period.

I have the same phone and its working great for me. Are you using the latest version of the app? Alex updates it pretty frequently.

I just received it, and downloaded the app that was from the app store link provided so assume it was the newest one.

Loving Auto-Mate. Today's Automation: Automatically set ride height to High upon entering truck, and resetting to High when speeds drop below 40 m.p.h.

Another helpful automation today with Auto-Mate: Triggering route overview when I'm navigating. I have it trigger the route overview only when going over 65mph. I rarely need the center screen navigation because I typically just use navigation around town to get around traffic and the driver's display does the job. However, if I'm on the highway and navigating, I like the center screen in route overview.
