I'll be at the media/press day of the Los Angeles Auto Show next Thursday (11/20). Obviously Rivian will have a spot in the show but does anyone know if the R2 will be there? I would guess at minimum they would have the 2024 prototype they had last year. I seriously doubt they would show the most current R2's in testing.

On 11/18/2025, in preparation for the LA Auto Show, Jeep released some additional information on the Recon, which would be an R2 competitor. Unfortunately they did not release the dimensions, but since it is using the same platform as the Wagoneer S electric vehicle is should be similar in size to the R2.

I have had great experiences with our Jeeps in the past 30+ years! But I am wary about an EV from Stellantis (and Jeep). A deal breaker for me is the lack of NACS charge port!! The Recon was my backup choice to R2. I am looking forward to configuring, ordering, and driving my R2 next year.

The length may be another foot if a spare tire is mounted on the back like a Wrangler.

I can't believe they are attempting to release a vehicle without a NACS port!

Stellantis is adopting the North American Charging Standard, giving select electric models access to more than 28,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America, Japan and South Korea.

The automaker says Tesla Supercharger network availability will start in 2026 with existing North America EVs such as the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona.

The 2026 Jeep Recon, which goes into production early next year, and other future products to be announced will be added to the list.

In 2027, Stellantis customers in Japan and Korea will be able to charge compatible electric models at thousands of Tesla Supercharger locations.

The company said additional details on network accessibility and adapter information for current Stellantis BEV models across brands in North America, Japan and South Korea will be shared later.

“This collaboration underscores Stellantis’ strategy to offer freedom of choice by supporting vehicles that fulfill customer requirements and meet consumer demand,” the company said in a statement. “By unlocking broader access to charging infrastructure, Stellantis gives customers more choice, more coverage and more control over how, where and when they power their BEVs.”

Isn't that EV starting at 65K with only up to 250 range though? Not sure I'd want to spend that much for something that only gets 250 range.

So stellantis vehicles cannot use superchargers now?
