Hey everyone! I’m really curious to hear from fellow Rivian owners who have crossed the 100,000-mile mark. How has your Rivian been holding up over the long haul? Any insights, surprises, or gotchas that owners at 50k miles (me) should know about? Would love to hear your experiences!

I have now had 2 "major" issues.

My truck is vin 00002690.
Delivered March 25th 2022.

July 1st of 2024

My 3 way cooling valve failed over night in my garage. When I went out to my truck in the morning it was blowing hot air. Over about an hour the truck went into turtle mode and then shut off. It was towed to the service center and the valve was replaced. I had the truck back in 4 days.

August 9th 2025

While driving to north carolina my suspension light came on. Truck was drivable but no cruise control. Long 12 hour drive home

I got an appointment the next business day after I got home.

Drove it to service center and they found one of my rear jounce lines had a small hole from rubbing in its mount and the system detected a pressure differential and put itself in safe mode. They are actually covering the lines but its because they discovered that both my rear dampers are leaking badly. I am paying out of pocket for those to be replaced. Truck will be back to me in less than 5 business days.

3 years and 84,000 miles. No gas, 1 full brake job. Now $3300 out of pocket.

83,000 miles for me, vin 093XX, only had minor issues at the service center pretty much. I did have 2 of my calipers replaced under warranty and a rear air strut replaced. Currently have an appointment scheduled to diagnose a rotational squealing sound coming from the front driver side. Possible bearing issue

Im curious as to why you would have to cover anything on that? Is it not maintenance from part failure within the warranty period?

Tarkus just past 90k today & only major issues, rear drive motors went out at 59-60k earlier this year pre dawn one April morning in NJ. Put it Economy mode & drove it 30 something miles to SC in Blauvelt, NY just as they opened & had it back 10 days later (under warranty) then last month at 85k or so one rear dampener started leaking & 2 weeks ago the other dampener started as well & I don't have 8k to replace both. Ugh.

I just got word from the service center that both of my rear dampers are leaking and they are getting replaced as well. Hearing this is more and more of a common issue. Not a cheap fix for sure

Only $3400 to replace both. Ask my empty wallet how I know. I made it to 83,000

I have 68,000 and vin 15xxx and only have done the 12 volt and a window recalibration for wind noise. Currently the cruise randomly will stop working and I can immediately will restart it again and it will be fine. I am not sure if it is software or a module. I will get it checked out the next time I go to the service center. I will have to report back in 18 months when I hit 100,000.

I saw a post on the Facebook group today, there was an owner who just passed 150K miles. They didn't comment on whether they had any repairs out of warranty, but others were commenting that they passed 100K miles with minimal repairs.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences? This is great information for someone who is looking to buy a gen 1 . I am worried about expensive out of warranty repairs. I am most definitely still going to buy one . Knowing I may have a big repair bill someday.
