I'm curious if anyone has thoughts around whether changing the exterior paint color will have an impact on the LE delivery timing we were given?

Considering switching away from LE to something else (maybe Limestone), but I've been afraid to change my configuration online.

I asked CS about it, and all they could say was that the delivery timing was based on the configuration set at the time they made the estimates. Any changes I make to the configuration could change the timing of my delivery. I tried to push hard on whether something as simple as paint color could have a significant impact or not, but they could only repeat the same verbiage.

So, while I fully understand that switching things like battery size, off-road package, etc. could certainly affect your delivery date, do you all think that changing exterior paint color is dangerous?

PS. I also asked if I could discuss this with my guide when I was contacted. I was told that guide contacts are now scheduled to happen only once your vehicle enters production, so it would be too late to ask this question. Lovely...

Color doesn't seem to be a major factor in the 2 month delivery windows that have been communicated to those with LE reservations. It seems highly unlikely that a color change would alter your current delivery window but nobody can guarantee that - apparently not even Rivian at this point. If you are in the tail end of the April/May window with your current config, it's possible this could slide you into the May/June window but I wouldn't expect it to push you into 2023.

Agreed, just get what you want. A year from now you won't really care about when you finally took delivery as much as you will about the color/options you'll look at and enjoy for the next several years.

Limestone seems to be the color that has been the most elusive and hasn't been seen much (if at all) on physical vehicles. Other colors seem to be plentiful. If I were to guess, this would be the color that could impact delivery .... just my 2¢

Color choice can be changed without affecting your place in line, but nobody has seen limestone so there's a possibility that one could change things or be discontinued or who knows.

Agreed. I haven’t seen either color in person, so I don’t actually know which I prefer...but that’s a different problem!
