So many of these posts lately. Shit on Rivian and never come back. Never provide anything beyond a sensationalized complaint, not from a user who has engaged much, if at all, before.
Yes, I get it. These people are never gonna come back or engage if this is the vibe being given off though.

I love Rivian and I want to encourage people to stick through these rough patches when I can. Telling them to shut up and take a loss isn’t gonna help the company.

I will say I’m glad I got a 2024 tail end of the Gen 1 run though. Thing is built like a tank. If Gen 2 is having teething issues, hopefully they’ll get it dialed in.

Rivian didn't make me finalize my paperwork on my purchase last week until after I had a chance to inspect and ask about everything. Guaranteed the OP got that chance too, they just weren't prepared or were overly excited about it.

I've looked for their post from two weeks ago, asking what to look out for at delivery. I can't find it.
Same, they were very open and cool at delivery for me too. Walked all around it with me to make sure there was nothing I was unhappy about and set everything up with me. I was the one trying to wrap it up quick.

I thought KRG was talking about all these hostile responses, not OP. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't come back. Some of yall got no chill

I don't think the OP actually intends on interacting here, period. They aren't looking for help, or it would have been worded differently. They've also got basically every single initial quality problem that Rivian has had recently, on the same vehicle.

Biggest and only complaint I can come up with for my R1S tri-motor is that the rear doors are harder to close than it seems like they should be.

Yes, Rivian still needs to fix their delivery process and QC. And yes, the OP has the right to vent, complain about their personal experience.

My issue with the OP is. H/she has been a member since 2020, including one post back then. So s/he should know many others have encountered issues and made sure to check the vehicle before taking delivery.

Totally agree. But this post was made while someone was clearly frustrated. People can have some empathy and encourage the guy to further explain/post pics, or just ignore it rather than acting like an old boys club. Always tends to be the same type of people that live on forums and police them. It’s lame imo.
I’m not their therapist and I didn’t sign up here to be people’s emotional support dumping ground. Too many people make an account here just to gripe without any solutions or intentions of adding to the community in a meaningful way.

We are all here voluntarily to discuss a special interest, Rivian. It’s not about an “old boys club” it’s about whether or not a perspective member intends on adding value to this place or just dump their cesspool commentary and leave. The way this post is worded leans strongly towards the latter.

If that’s the case I’m not going to temper my opinion and coddle them as they have no real interest in being a part of this community regardless. There are plenty of posts with people raising issues that I don’t take this tone for, but those people are here to engage with this special interest not just leave their emotional baggage here. This isn’t the place for that, it’s a car forum and if OP just wants to be heard there are people who charge by the hour to listen.

Valid. But you have 6700 posts on this forum. How many of those are just complaining about posts like this and is it really worth the time wasted.

Forums always get to a point where the same group of people seem to dominate and bully and that’s when it stops being fun for me.

Still love my truck though so I’ll stick around.

It’s not taking time away from more important things, I can multitask. Regardless, I don’t come here to bully anyone but I will call out a bad actor when I see one. Sorry if you think that’s bullying, but I’m not being paid to be here so I’m not going to put my professional hat on with the sort of people who intend to rain on my parade.

Your accusation of forum bully would hold more weight if I was on every negative thread saying the same things. There are plenty of people here with legitimate criticisms.

Boy, this is rich.
Clearly, somebody wronged you at some point in your life, maybe as a child. That's a hell of a chip to carry on your shoulder.
Feel free to trash anybody posting on here whose comments do not meet your strict guidelines for participating in a forum.
Might want to keep in mind that forums are sites for expressing views as the person posting thereon sees fit. Nobody gives a you-know-what about any post not meeting your self-righteous criteria.
Either comment away as you have, or move on. Either is just fine.
Your audacity is surpassed perhaps only by the size of the glass house you must live in.
The nerve. Unbelievable!

You do realize all this could be said about your whining about my comments, too, right? Feel free to trash me if my commentary doesn't meet your strict guidelines. Hell, maybe give me your phone number and I can text you all my posts before making them to be sure you approve of them.

You're right; forums are for expressing views, which is what I did. I suggest taking your own advice.

go ahead and actually call Rivian and they almost certainly will get you in for an appointment way sooner than 3 months from now.
FWIW, here in the Bay Area that seems to be an option only if there’s a major safety issue — the SJ service center just doesn’t have the capacity.

Tesla Model X, Tesla Model 3 -> Replaced by a 2025 Rivian R1S Dual
As a counter point to OP - I took delivery of a 2025 R1S Dual last Tuesday and I have no serious complaints. It's an awesome vehicle, and I actually like it much better than my Tesla Model X. Took it on a 300+mile round trip this last weekend and it was fabulous.

My two minor quibbles are (1) wind noise above about 65 MPH from the front passenger side window; (2) rear doors are hard to close - require more force to close than front doors. I will schedule a service center appointment in a few weeks after we have a little more time/miles on the car.

Did Rivian hold a gun to your head when you went to pick it up? I would've said no and walked.
