Loud blower motor, air compressor on all the time, alignment off, steering shakes (not lane departure related), paint flaw / body damage, trim not flush, door panel rattling, wind noise from roof, and can’t get service for 3 months.

for the price of ownership, I’m not impressed.

Welcome to a new car company. I was hoping the 2nd gen would be better but I noticed the loud heat pump on them before I went with a used Gen 1 instead.

As for body damage and trim issues, were they at delivery? If so, you should have had them correct before taking delivery.

Wind noise is a pretty common issue. Lots of threads here on how to address it depending on the issue. What speed does it start at? This is also an issue on my Tesla model 3.

TIres might have thrown a weight and need balancing. Can't speak to alignment unless something was hit. I haven't heard this being an issue.

Let service check out the stuff and in my experience they are pretty good at fixing the issues.

Try to see if auto ride height stays off on the tri and turn off kneel mode. Alignment seems to have caused a couple of issues for you. Sorry to hear that.

This is unfortunate to hear. I have a preorder for the Gen 2 quad but I am thinking more and more about just keeping my Gen 1 Launch Edition. I have 2 Gen 1 Launch edition Quads and they are both built great, no major issue at about 40k. This is part of what is driving me to buy another but I wonder if the Launch Edition will turn out to be the best quality. Its seeming harder and harder to justify Paying $110k for a Gen 2 Tri over $50k for a used Gen 1 Quad.

Was your vehicle involved in any recent drive-bys?

A 3 month wait for service is annoying. Did you call or just try to make an appointment through the app?

Hey look, another post full of penny ante complaints.
I think his point is it wasn't a penny ante truck...

Not everyone has a great experience with their truck, and the more you spend, the more you expect it to be right.

Nothing you just wrote makes any effing sense. Did you experience blindness when you introduced to your new stupidly expensive vehicle?

I went all over my R1T when we first met. And outside of one tiny blemish on the left rear quarter, she was perfect.

In the name of fairness, I do see that the density of Rivian owners in California, coupled with umm, california vibes, seems to come to a head with these posts about service times. It's great that California loves Rivian and Rivian loves them back, but it seems like 90% of the posts that are complaining about service wait times on their new vehicles are in California, where the ratio of vehicles to SC's is likely the most divergent in the country.

That being said, as others have mentioned, body adjustments are what they are, if you didn't catch at delivery, then you have 12 months/12k miles to get it resolved, and that's from the ticket request, it will be fine. If you honestly feel like any of those minor grievances are a huge deal for your daily life, as others have mentioned, go ahead and actually call Rivian and they almost certainly will get you in for an appointment way sooner than 3 months from now. Just like anything these days, squeaky wheel or you'll be in line until you die basically.

Did you like, test drive it any before you left? Refuse delivery?
You are not allowed to drive it before delivery. The delivery rep can drive it with you as a passenger.

Most vehicle heat pumps I have experience with are loud. Our Blazer EV has a loud heat pump as well.
