Hi friend

In this case, our customer service should have sent a email to you in advance :D
I received the email notification. That’s why I was explaining how I got the 2022-2024 kit first and the 2025 brackets afterwards.

How do you want to retrofit it
I like the new style bracket. Would they work with the previous running boards? I have a Gen1 2023 R1T and ordered your running boards for it a few months ago but hadn't been able to install them. If these brackets work, I would prefer to use them on my truck truck if possible.

Hi friend

The Gen 2 brackets are not compatible with the Gen 1 :(

We will upgrade Gen 1 brackets soon !

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification. If you could post when you update the Gen1 brackets, that would be great.

Did the install last week. Solid product. Poor instructions.
The video posted in this thread is close to being perfect.
  • I used an oscillating tool (instead of a circular saw) to do the cutouts on the panels.
  • I wouldn't torque the last nuts to hold down the running board past 20 ft-lb.

Nice clean cuts on the plastic panels! I got lazy and sloppy with those cuts. Mine are no where near as neat as yours.

how did you decide on 20ft-lb?

Based off of size and type of nut; 3/8 galvanized.
Felt like I would ruine the nut itself if I pushed more. Plus I've seen some comments online where people used a giant torque wrench and tightened 50+ ft-lb - which, in some cases, broke the inset bolt.
Spring washer + 20 ft-lb nut is good enough.

Appreciate the feedback. Glad mine didn't break at 35 ft-lb. I'll add a note to the video suggesting 20 ft-lb may be better.

Hi

Which step in our instruction manual do you think needs improvement?

All videos I could find online were for gen 1 R1S. The mounting brackets are different for 2025 as is some of the hardware on the panels. It took me a few hours to figure out the first side so I decided to make an instructional video to help out anyone else trying to put these on. Pretty easy once you know where everything goes.

Thank you for the video. It helped. However last week when I got the product it had the same numbered brackets (no 2) and the same was listed in the instructions. When I installed it I am unable to fit the board. It either hits the rear door or the front frame that’s there for aerodynamics. Were all your frames of same size? length and height.

Slide the boards forward or back slightly to test. When you get to a place that works tighten them down

If the board was too far back the rear door would hit it when opening. I had no issues with clearance in the front. I'm not sure which part of the car the running board is hitting up front for you.

I positioned my running boards as far out and back as possible.

@emlo and @sanjoseR1S I tried moving back and forth. I can get the rear and middle one piece bolt by doing that. But can’t get one screw of the one piece bolt in the front one. Following is the image of my passenger side front.
I have reached out to @EVBASE to verify if they have indeed sent the right brackets and the board is for R1S.

Remove the board and set it next to the vehicle and take a picture and share. Just want to confirm you have the R1S set and not the R1T as the T is much longer.

Here it it’s. Also the straight part of board measures around 77inch.
