Wife and I test drove a R1S Gen2 on Saturday and fell in love. We decided to go ahead with the lease option to take advantage of the $7500 incentive. We are also trading in our Model Y for an extra $3500 incentive. Now I can't stop refreshing the order page to get an updated estimated delivery time.

We also have a 2023 Lightning that my wife drives, and we've been full EV since 2020.

Interesting, just did about the same thing. Getting conflicting stories on the $3500 credit for an EV. Went to send the info, and needed to chat with someone who said no such thing, but just upload a gas car Title and get $3000 credit.

I totally feel that. Ordered end of September, kept looking like a lunatic several times a day. Finally accepted that it will happen when it happens, then out of nowhere it seemed, a text message saying my vehicle was in final inspection/quality control stage and I need to schedule delivery! Whoo... ok so schedule delivery for the 20th of Nov. Figure out the insurance thing, figure out the finance thing, (haven't figured out the home charging thing yet) figured I had some time. Had a conference to go to and am flying back Friday.

Got a text today that the vehicle arrived early and I could pick it up tomorrow if I could get all the things signed and such by today. A week early.

So my advice would be, figure out your insurance (definitely shop around), get your trade in detailed perhaps, buy a 3D printer and find some cool accessories... before you know it, you're going to be on your way to go pick it up (like I will this Saturday).

I was told it was only for Tesla, no other EV. Originally my guide mentioned it and I then called the sales number and they confirmed it.

Was yours a custom order or did it actually just take that long? I ordered one from the inventory sheet but there really isn't any information on whether it was actually available or not. And my guide is less than responsive to any questions. I can pretty much ask him one small question a day and he'll respond the next day, if I ask him more than one question he'll only answer one of them. I know they're busy, but dang, it's like pulling teeth.

So it seems that not everyone is on the same page. When I call the 888 number then option 2 for sales, they said a Tesla trade in has a 3500 incentive. My guide said it does not.
