I activated a membership as I was tired of EVGO’s unreliability however, still being charged non membership prices. I plugged in before I started charging-billing showed up in Tesla but was paid out of Rivian account at non member rate. Tried chat option with Rivian, tried removing and reinstalling Tesla app-neither worked and tesla does not seem to have an option to call or email for support.
Anyone has a work around for this? Or a contact number/email? Thanks!

If you started the charging session from the Tesla app in the “charge your other EV” section and your Tesla account has a current membership, there’s not really a reason it shouldn’t be billed through Tesla at the discounted rate. I signed up last month and successfully did something like 8 sessions, including a 30 second test session before heading out on my roadtrip.

I have a Model 3, so the interface may be slightly different…

In the Tesla app, select the hamburger (3 lines) menu in the top-right corner of the app, then select the ? In the circle in the same area, then “Ask a Question”. It’s unclear if this is just a bot or can direct you to support eventually.

Normally for support on my car, I select Service on the main screen and that gets directed to a real person eventually. I’m expecting without a Tesla, this isn’t active.

The tesla app for the use of only the superchargers available to non tesla users does not have that option (bot) seems to only be for tesla

Did you put a credit card into the Tesla app?
Yes, I am going to change the card as it’s the same one that is on the RIVIAN account. But, don’t think that is the issue.

It is easy to make a mistake when charging at a Tesla Supercharger on your Rivian. The process below is what I use. If you just plug-in without using the Tesla App exclusively and basic details below, it will always bill to your Rivian account.

1. Make sure you have an active credit card on file, updated inside the Tesla App., otherwise it will always bill to your Rivian account.
2. Use ONLY the Tesla App to start a charge.
3. Use only the Charge Your Other EV (section on the App). Click on it.
4. Now you will have a Tesla Map with accessible SuperCharger Stations. Click on one.
5. Click on the specific location you want to charge at (click on Charge Here)
6. Tesla App will have you choose, "Chose Post Number" to a corresponding charger.
7. Select the charger (e.g. 1D) and NOW MOST IMPORTANT
8. Click on Start Charging THEN
9. Plug in your already NACS adapter connected cable to your Rivian charger.

It's flawless like this.

Start charging in app and plug in when it tells you to (tell app which charger). I used 6 times this weekend on the roadtrip and it worked fine. If you plug in first it's Rivian charged at nonmember rate.

Will try it again tomorrow. Sunday I used the navigation to find the closest Tesla. Evidently should not do that. Was billed non member price. Today I used the app but may have plugged in first? Don’t know as I had to pull in/out multiple times to be close enough to reach. I sent an email to A2Z to see if the extender they were working on will be available any time SOON!

Looks like you plugged in first, then went to the app. Must be the other way around. If you plug in, your truck will automatically begin handshake with the charger and your session will be plug-n-charge, which is non-member rate.

Exactly how I do it also. Never a problem, but I do not pay the membership fee. Somebody on here mentioned that there is a way to set this up for true plug-and-charge.

One thing you could do for now is set up a dispute with your CC company each time you were $$ overcharged.. That will get Tesla's attention at the other end very quickly. Or else, it may never reply. Either way, you come out ahead and may actually get those charges wiped out.
