That 2.6 is only for the last 15 minutes and has almost no bearing on real efficiency.
I didn't get the chance to take the whole range but will do it when I return from my trip. But regardless Michelins are way better tires overall .

I'm seeing 2.6 on average with the 21s Michelins. The ride is way more supple, quieter and glass snooth.

While encouraging, it would be good to see longer term averages. Would you mind resetting a trip meter and reporting the trip info after about a week? Thanks!

For sure! Will recharge the Rivian to fill 100 percent Sunday night and reset the trip meter so everything is in line with each other and will post 1 week update now that the tires are fully broken in.

I've got the 21's and am looking for a ride that less reactive to small bumps. I think I would prefer the higher profile of the 20's but I'm leasing and don't want to mess with new rims if I don't have to. When you say the Michelins are more "supple" than the Pirellis, do they soak up bumps better? Also were you comparing your new Michelins to worn Pirellis? If so, how do they compare to new? Michelins would be the easy button for me but if they're not a big improvement I may consider the 20's. Thanks!

Comparing Michelins to brand new Pirellis with only 2k on the Pirellis, the Michelins are like riding on cloud and very supple over bumps, bad roads, potholes, dirt roads etc. I love them so much. Pirellis are very harsh compared to these and don't have great traction in rain etc. These tires will outperform the Pirellis for sure this winter no doubt. I wouldn't hesitate to get these. They are glsss smooth up to 90 plus mph. I feel like a king ? driving this R1S.

What pressure do you run them at?

Running them at 50 psi since I was breaking them in but still impressive. Going to drop them to 46-47 psi when it get back tonight from Europe. Will be charging the rivian up to 100% and will drive this week and give the overall efficiency next weekend. ??

I just picked up 5 of the defenders and 5 21" Aero wheels for winter driving once my G² R1T³ comes in November.

Excited to see how they do.

Now if Michelin or Bridgestone or Falken came out with a 21” snow/ice/winter tire in OEM size, then all those 21” super cheap factory rims would go back up to the price of all others and people would be keeping their 21” rims. Boy that would be something. Guess I should be buying up the 21” rims out there for $100/rim. ? honestly, it is only a matter of time.

No way this will happened. 21" owners should consider themselves lucky michelin released the tires knowing that rivian discontinued it for future models. There is absolutely no demands for any other type of tires for this size

low N but just an update for those who didn't see the headline earlier.

Pirellis lifetime 2.23 (>94% in AP)
prior 4,000 miles 2.40 (included The Count's sojourn to sunny South Dakota entailing some conserve mode)

Defenders first 1,000 2.20 (all AP)

carry on.

How much was in and out for the Michelin Defenders, 21"?
Just checked DT for the Pirelli Scorpion OEM tires, $2,596 in and out for all four.
