Update, the steering wheel slightly vibrates and the chassis shakes above 85 to 90 mph. Going back to my independent installer for a road force balance. It's not major just noticeable and it's after break in period so the tires may of shifted on the rims etc. They all were below 15 to 18 lbs road force but need to be redone below 10 lbs in the front and rear. This car is super sensitive like my Audi and BMW. This is why I always stressed to do road force balance below 10 lbs.

For those who have an R1S and 21" tires and switched did it smooth out the ride at all? Mine is a bit bouncy and my wife hates it. I was debating on going with 20" tires since nothing else existed but now I'm looking at these to see if it will fix the drive just a bit for her.

Got the Michelin tires road force properly below 10 lbs in the front and 13 lbs in the rear and it's smooth as glass up to 95 plus mph on all sorts of highway pavements. Such a smooth luxury ride like my Lexus, Audi SUVs etc. no bounciness etc

I am averaging 3.3-3.6 now with the Michelins after recharging the battery and doing 50 miles of mixed urban highway driving today in all purpose. Few launches here and there plus driving consistently at 85 mph. Done 600 miles on these tires.
Correction due to my stupidity of show mi/hr and not the mi/kw. Its around 2.4-2.6 overall.

The Defenders are a much better tire. The math is actually 7 lbs lighter per tire. I have the 20" versions and the improvement in everything over the OG 21" is night and day! I don't understand why Rivian never offered a 275 60 R20 as a factory option. Also, I did not think the ride quality could get better in the R1T but it did! very happy to make the switch.
What are you seeing for efficiency compared to the 21's? When mine wear out I'm trying to see if it's worthwhile to spend the $$ on 20's and get the ltx in the 20" version which is ~$80 less a tire then the 21's. And I would think be even lighter. Combine that with a lighter wheel, I would hope range would go up too.

There are a few people on here already have 20" combo you mentioned above with light weight forged wheels. I believe the efficiency is about the same as the 21" pirelli

I just passed the 500 mile mark and I am seeing = range. I was getting about 2.25 with the 21's and now with the 20's on my normal commute I am averaging the same. I have seen no material range change. my setup comes in about 9lbs per corner less than the factory 21's setup. I do have a more open design wheel. I will say the big thing for me is how much better the Michelin is in every way, quieter, more grip for light off-roading, and ride comfort went up another 10-20%

After driven the Atomic wheels/General grabber combo for about 10k miles, which is about 10 lbs light on each corner , compared to the 21" OEM, I see the same efficiency as well. 2.30 for both. I'm beginning to think that tires with less rolling resistant plays more of a role of efficiency than the weight.

no significant ride change (its only been 100 miles on the new shoes). but then The Count's 22 LE doesn't seem bouncy to him. Efficiency seemed down slightly but that could have been all the launch modes to break in the tyres.

I'm seeing 2.6 on average with the 21s Michelins. The ride is way more supple, quieter and glass snooth.

That 2.6 is only for the last 15 minutes and has almost no bearing on real efficiency.
