Hello everyone,

Just a quick post and observation.

I have been on a road trip from my home in south central Illinois to visit my parents and family in Daphne, Alabama. The NACS adapter sent by Rivian is really a game changer when it comes to road trips. It opens up so many options for charging. It really takes any anxiety away from road trips. Now I can pick where I stop, look at price per kw, and amenities nearby. If I don’t wanna charge at a questionable EA station at a Walmart…I don’t have to :) Thanks Rivian for the adapter

A quick shot out to the state of Alabama. We are not talking about an EV Nirvana down here….but there are now 4 superchargers (3 CCS and 1 NACS) chargers within 10 miles of my parents house in Daphne. Ive been driving here for 2 years now with my R1T. I would have to drive 30 miles to a supercharger. Now I can drive a few miles and not worry at all about bringing Doc Brown on road trips to see them.

Im also impressed with the number of new chargers being added up and down the interstates in Alabama. ( check out Plugshare)
Nice to see a state, especially one with lower EV adoption, taking the initiative. If you build it, we will show up and spend money at the establishments near them. Keep it up.

Agree with the adapter being a game changer! Just used mine last night for the first time, and like you said, it takes a lot of the anxiety away!

Took a trip to Daphne myself in last couple of months before getting my NACS adapter. Was really pleased to find a couple of Tesla SCs in a row with Magic Docks in AL. While in Daphne, had to resort to the MB (Chargepoint) DCFC at Buckee's down the road on I10 a bit. I love me some Buckee's but you make it sound like having NACS adapter will give me a lot more convenient choices when I make another trip there next month.

I can tell you one AL charger I'll avoid is a AE charger at a Sam's Club outside of Montgomery. There was one slot I might have been able to situate the truck for plugging in and there was a Mach-E happily there for the long haul so backtracked to one of the magic dock SCs ~15 minutes away. That and the Tesla SCs were actually at places with ample food, shopping and restroom options where might not be able to even get into a Sam's without a membership and there's nothing else around many of them.

The NACS adapter will work at Bucees or they have some really good Mercedes chargers. 2 car dealerahips (Hyundai and Toyota) have Chargepoint chargers near Eastern Shore mall. Plus Riveria Utilities has a charger in Daphne,, Fairhope, and Robertsdale. All chargepoint plug and charge.

The adapter comes in handy for the ride down and back feom Illinois for sure

100% agreed. I am extremely thankful to Rivian for negotiating access with Tesla and getting the rollout done early in the year.

I almost pulled the trigger on the A2Z adapter since it seems like Rivian won't get to me for another year (Feb-23 delivery date). Ford is also stating longer delivery times for theirs.

I have driven to Alabama and Soutn Carolina on previous long trips with my Rivian. Charging was always available…but the stop for charging may well be the only option.

now, with NACS access…it really is different. It really makes the ride better just with options to charge.

The adapter is definitely worth it.

Thanks for sharing… I can’t wait to receive my adapter. Bought my R1S last November. Sadly I dont know where I am at on the list. I was hoping to have it for summer trips.. summer has come and just about gone .
