Frunk can get hot due to proximity to inverters, especially in the summer. Not as convenient to keep it in the back, but is taking a couple extra steps and opening the rear hatch, instead of the hood, really that inconvenient?

The frunk really gets hotter than the cabin when sitting around in the summer sun? Interesting. I have a bluetooth temp sensor I may have to mess around with it.

Not just from sitting in the sun. From running as well. Look up frunk disassembly videos. The inverters are right there beyond the frunk tub. Early on some one tried to use their frunk as a ice chest, since it does have a drain plug, and learned how quickly ice melts in hot environments.

Yeah - in April in northwestern PA I was watching my Bluetooth temp logger while we were at an EA fast charger. It was 60 degrees outside and the frunk reached 118 while charging!

It’s not about sitting parked in the sun. It’s when you are driving and then want to use the adapter. It will be much cooler in the cabin than the frunk.

Got my email to confirm the shipping address too. VIN 96xx and I wasn't expecting this for at least a few more months. That's a pretty big step up the VIN #s from last time I checked. Crossing my fingers it shows up by the end of the month. There's a RAN about halfway, but the beach town has next to nothing other than Tesla and a couple of level 2 options.

Just a data point though - I have 2 other Rivians. Not sure if I'm getting 3 adapters or just one. I did have have to opt in again recently for an adapter so I'm guessing just 1 is on the way.
