How many Gen 2 R1s are actually being delivered?

Based on what a few people have been saying on the Forum, it seems that while yes, Gen 2 R1S HAS started arriving to customers, it's at a very slow rate. Curious how true this is

I don't see any more quad motor gen1 Vehicles left. Rivian has had some very, very competitive incentives to move the existing units.

I selected a '25 R1S DM/Max/PremiumSound/BlackAsh/RangeWheel from the store about a month ago, got a VIN right away and my dashboard has said "Purchase opens in 1-2 weeks" ever since. Seems like no one knows when it will ship and it's very frustrating.

I purchased mine from the shop on 6/25. I was told it would be delivered to me in Hawaii by the middle of July. As that time approached and I didn't hear anything, I reached out and was told it would now be the middle of August. Shipping from California to Hawaii takes 1 week. I'm not sure how long it takes to ship from Illinois to California but I would think it should also take a week. I don't know what the delay is.

Seems like there are a lot of reports of delivery delays on shop vehicles. The shipping and logistics side of things is not new to Rivian. They have that pretty well figured out it seems.

So if I were a betting man, I'd say it sounds like there's some kind of delay at the factory. Maybe something to do with the complaints of the heat pump being excessively loud?

All speculation, but it is curious

Out of curiosity what are your thoughts on heat pump noise? Seems a fair people have complained about it and I'm curious if that's related to any delays

When the AC is on, the fan is loud outside of the car, but the car is very quiet on the inside. No complaints from us. Overall, the car is super quiet - at least compared to our Tesla Model 3.

That's a good comparison - model 3 is decently quiet. Lots of fan on the outside with AC, but no buzzing from the compressor

Pre-ordered in 2019, confirmed as soon as I could in 2023 but it was never delivered, converted to voucher and then selected a shop vehicle 6/14, and has shown as “ready for purchase in 1-2 weeks” ever since. The sales advisor stopped responding a week ago. Not sure what’s more crazy, the purchase process or the fact that I still hold RIVN

I did a custom order on 6/13, but no movement since. Someone on Reddit said they got told dark package isn't shipping until fall, so I guess I have a bit of a wait still.

Picked a 2025 R1S from shop on June 26, the next day got a text from the service center in Colorado Sprins saying expected delivery date is 7/24 but could change depending on how long it takes to get there from Illinois. Haven't heard anything since but assuming it's still on a train.
