I don't see much value loss, EVs have already been taking that hit. Why I was able to buy an R1S quad fully optioned under $80k with 200 miles on it.

Would .5 seconds quicker be nice, other interior colors sweet, sure. However nothing listed in article that is a gamechanger from current R1's.

True...I may have extrapolated too much from that statement. Might just be a marketing angle with some slightly different sound processing. Hoping more for a Meridian type comeback so my bias played into how I read that.

I wonder how much engineering had to happen for the torque increase on the QM and TM. Things like half shafts, subframes, etc... or if all that was overbuilt enough from the beginning that simply sliding in more powerful motors is all it needed?

I hear ya. My Meridian in R1T is definitley a better sound. R1S sounds hollow, will be looking into speaker options but waiting to see other input before I start pulling apart another vehicle lol.
